why would they care all that much if a few people are unhappy, yet still taking part? They're paying their subs, and more people are coming to the game to take part in the event. its win/win for them. You can complain here all you want, but the fact that you're paying your sub AND taking part in the event means they could pretty much ignore your complaints and you'd still pay a sub and take part in the events "not to be left out/behind".

If you said "this stinks" and cancelled your sub, that sends a very strong message, one that some players have already sent.

For now.
I'm waiting for R2, I don't intend to fall behind while I'm still subbed.
If we don't see some positive development in the meantime, then we'll see.

If I was complaining without doing anything in the event whatsoever, THEN I'm sure I'd be ignored.

Tough one, if lots of folk did say "this stinks" and cancelled their sub would Nevrax change anything? Would the change simply be to say well there's no point in doing that non-PvP stuff afterall?

If people do leave then how much of it would just be seen as "well people move on"?

Should Nevrax's statements about wanting to be inclusive and communicative be taken seriously? If people do as you suggest and cancel then how can that happen.

It seems to me that it is a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

Unfortunately, mass exodus does seem to be the only way of smacking sense into them. The dreaded reference :"Patch 1". Was there any more moaning about that than there is about this? Nope. Only difference is, it's much harder to drop your sub and walk after all this time, so people are trickling out instead of an instant flood. But hey, people are joining up too! So no skin off of Neverax's nose.
Once those players who have stuck it out get a load of the sort of person who is useually attracted to a massively merciless, as well as the social enviornment it creats even with PvP/NonPvP flags, then the flood begins :(

As for would they toss any theoretical Non-PvP stuff out the window, well that depends on two things;

1) How bright they are.

and

2) Do they still have a job.

grimjim wrote:OK, here's an appeal to the various people who have cancelled or are cancelling their subs.

Don't.

Please.

Sorry Grimjim, but the game no longer has any appeal to me.

I still remember the good old days here on Atys when the world at least had a reasonable sized population and PvP or FvF did not exist here. Still I thank Nevrax for those good old days and the players that helped make them good.
Did not get to say goodbye ingame so i'll say it here cya all and take care. To the guild 'Legion of Atys' thanks for everything and remember to kick me out or i'll just be another name on a list.

Vortexia signing out.

morgaine, am i wrong or do you seem SO happy that most of the old players are quitting ?
for my part, i've cancelled 1 out of my 2 accounts, and haven't set foot in the "old lands" since the first 2 days after they opened.
Will cancel my 2nd account when outposts are activated, but... will maybe come back for Jyudas' R2, hoping to be invited in there :)

Voting with my wallet also...

Made some great friends here, had tons o fun... *sighs* too bad the ride is over. Perhaps, like others, R2 will be shiny enough to catch my eye.

I may drop in here and there till the sub runs out, and pass out a few goodies to the random person. *hopes the packers didn't eat the candy canes*

Later all!

Sniffle. Just read the latest front page news and roadmap. More separating the homins from each other by faction. There is already a World of Warcraft, please don't make another. Sniffle.
