Naw, I don't think so. There's no point in flaming someone who's on your side, now is there? :)

I'd throw myself into the mud for you guys anytime, but that I can't do, maggers. ;) Which brings us right to...

We should be seeing more players around here throughout the next few weeks, once PC magazines and more gaming websites across the web are going to publish their SoR reviews. While some of you have had the chance to take a sneak peek at the game during the beta, many people didn't*. Understandably, they prefer to wait for press reviews before making a decision, that's normal. ;)

As for reviews already published, I can tell you that they are more than positive so far. In case you're interested in reading some of them... we'll include a list of press reviews with our next newsletter.

* Before you ask: Yes, we plan to add a free Trial version. ;) Though I cannot give you an ETA on this just yet.

Lawrence, nice to see some feedback.

This game needs that first patch out asap, I know you know that.

Also at the time I wrote that I had been trying to play in this horrible lag, (which continues even now) while getting jumped by gingos running 125m in to join in the fight.

PC Magazines also go with the main flow.At a guess a summary review would be.

"A beautifully crafted game with stunning graphics and the potential to be great. The gameplay is different and the community one of the best I have come across. At the moment it lacks content and is plagued by terrible connection issues. PC Whatever recommends that you check back in 6 months when Nevrax have fixed the bugs and added the content that is currently missing"

No chance that a PC magazine would ever be so negative in their judgement.

Never read PC Zone (UK mag) ? Thats pretty similar to their summary on Asherons Call 2.

Hope thats sarcastic, some of the reviewer comments ive seen recently border on abusive in some mags when theyve decided they dont rate a game.

You should also place it in a prominent position of the website frontpage that would be really cool.

Also a few more points. Last night i noticed a definate numbers increase, it seemed to be double what it was a few days before at exactly the same time of day. I certainly think the English Euro server is picking up a bit, and furthermore the type of communication in regional chat was a pleasant surprise from some of my recent games. I cant remember a single harsh word said, i dunno if everyone was on happy pills or what, but it was all about providing advice and helping people. Btw thats one thing Nevrax need to add, some sort of gm chat channel to help new players.

Im very much looking forward to patch 1 and 2. I think those gamers that are playing it atm are excited about the game, enjoy much of it, and are keen to see the game move forward....I know I am.

Regarding my post about reviews I can admittedly only speak for german language PC magazines which tend to VERY seldom write harsh reviews on major games.

Tonight I was actually suprised about the number of people on the matis mainland, was quite good fun :)

Whether the game will last for me long term, who knows, only new content will do that, and in the long long term, only guild wars or pvp content will keep me.

But in the short term, I'm happy pottering around and deciding which guild to join.

As with many MMORPG's the game can have all the content in the world, or virtually none, but in the end, the game is what YOU make it.

I've spent a lot of hours (probably days/weeks if you add it up :P ) playing muds over the last 10 years and some of my favorites had almost 0 content. Just a world that everyone played in and made fun between themselves.. Admintably you didn't pay for it, but then I'm sure given time more and more content will come and better and better patches.

It took CCP nearly a year to get eve from the joke that it was pvp wise to a more balanced game. There still not out of the woods in terms of content, but they're certainly getting there. I'd expect that over the next 6 months you'll see a lot more from this game, and within a year it will be great.

Only, those who gave up playing for a year will really kick themselves when they return to an awesome game at lvl 1 :P
