Well for sure Outpost are not comming any time soon big maybe on "Xmas" for ATS, Just do the math on the Short-Term takes about 2 months for "some" content to be release to the live server and the new stuff that It's going to be added are on the Mid-Term thats what 3 to 4 more months. Plus now Rites are frozen in time this all really disappointing :( .

What is bad about someone asking for content is that the word 'content' in this context is largely ill defined and meaningless since it means wildly different things to different people.

Ask for specifics.

Where exactly will you get that much bronze?
Where will you smelt it? Where will you cast it?

You do realize (at least I hope you do) that Fairhaven has thunderstorms now and then. With lightning coming down. Which is attracted to metal like kitin patrols to PR diggers. Especially when grounded in or near water.

I can just see it: the humonguous bronze statue on its revealing day, surrounded by all hominkind in celebration, a sudden thunderstorm, a hefty lightning strike, all homins present electrocuted...
That and, you know, no metal, no bronze.

I would say disappointing is a very mild way of putting it, and I wished I could do the same. I know there are people reading this thread right now who also find this disappointing, and here's a twist - I also find it damn disappointing that more people aren't coming forward with comments. Have a read of alex's post above, and tell me how you feel, long-term players? Christmas 2005 before any real updates? Before the updates we are all waiting for? I honestly can't believe people are going to continue using Ryzom as a subscription chat and meeting system after all these months.

Since release, the only interesting additions we've had are the Rites - and they're half-broken too. Since release I've kept my hopes up, and I've kept my comments positive whilst avoiding the 'fanboi trap'. No more. Statues that don't even look like people will provide absolutely nothing for current players, except one more thing to 'stand and stare' at. You really call that an update? I call it another nail in the coffin, and I'll wager there are other people that do too.

I don't like making comments that directly challenge Nevrax and what they are doing with Ryzom. But enough is enough. Over 4 months I've kept my subscription open, without even playing, in the hope that something new would come along. I did this partly because of the Chapter 11 business, and because I hoped I could help Nevrax (in a small way) pull through their troubles and use the potential Ryzom has.

These feelings have now gone, altogether. There are no threats or whines in this post, just an opinion, and one I know other players share. Nevrax can do what they like with Ryzom (that's a debatable point) and the remaining community can receive it as they see fit. Sadly for me, I choose to end my subscription today. I understand they cannot please everyone, but I fail to understand how the announced update will please more than a handful of players.

Farewell, kind regards to those who suffered my postings, and godspeed.

Unfortunately, I think you took my question in the wrong context, or maybe I should have worded it differently. I asked for Outposts, and I was asking what was wrong with that particular request (since Annissa referred to my question about outposts as 'asking for content')

You have a point, when people are generalising. When they are being specific, the request is valid. Content, when defined specifically, is something every game has to offer, and thus something every player will demand, in their own way.

EDIT: My comment above does not apply to tabletop/GM controlled RPG...

well, I wasn't referring specifically to your post, rather not, more to other comments I get in game etc. and seren's "only wanted outposts for the content update, i think this sounds far more fun than outposts ever did" but anyway, point is made

Lol, Daz on rampage :)

I definately will miss your posts. Never suffered from them ! You have a good brain. Unfortunately too good not to see the patterns in whats going on. I think this is why you had enough today. Haha, not all MMO players are brainless people without a life :D

I still get my distraction for one or two hours ingame. But the hope is gone with all consequences.

Have fun where ever you roam.

The message itself is not as scary as the fanboys that act like we are getting something tangible and swooning all over themselves... They may be the only ones left to make a statue of if things don't get added soon.

I am disgusted with the lack of progress in the nearly one year since release...

One of the (dis-?)advantages of extreme patience, the willingness to accept that.

Though I'll admit that it has been a long while since anything really new has happened.
