Yes, thankyou very much for sorting this out, Alyssah, Shunafyr and Drafty :)
I was amazed at the endless supply of ammo - thanks to Trini too ;)
Now I really have to learn some Range crafting, something I promised I'd do a long, long time ago.

I was planning on going but forgot about the time :( , would've been nice if there'd been a global announcement like they usually do for open player-organised events. (Though one announcement is quite sufficient, doesn't have to be ten in a row :D ) Ah well, hopefully I'll remember for the next one.

I asked - they refused. But I'm getting used to that.

I asked for one for our trek and was told they no longer will do MOTD's or global announcements for player run events.

What?! That's outrageous! Petition!

It's not like we're getting drowned in events here. If there were multiple official events every day, I'd understand that announcing player run events too would get in the way of that. But we're lucky to get one official event per week, and now they don't support the player run events anymore either? That really annoys me

I'm guessing its because of the huge fuss some people kicked up here. Leaving aside the actual "cause" of the thread, people in that thread said they hated Broadcasts, fullstop. People whine, we live with it.

It's funny that they either have to scroll it 10 times or won't display any at all... no middle ground, huh?

:p

Well I think its quite a reasonable response to an unreasonable complaint. If people say they hate Broadcasts about player events, remove 'em. If people disagree'd, you shoulda spoke up in the thread ;)

Edit: Yes, I'm feeling bitter today.
Edit2: Sorry for the offtopic :p
Edit3: @ sidusar, if you feel so strongly about it, make a poll/petition :p

I'm guessing you're right. But it's not true that people in that thread said they hated broadcasts. There were one or two saying they hated broadcasts being used for personal messages (nothing against using it to announce player events) and one or two saying they hated the same broadcast being spammed every 2 minutes (nothing against announcing it once or twice). Nobody said they hated all kinds of broadcasts. If somebody would've suggested that broadcasts not be used at all anymore, I surely would've spoken up in that thread, but nobody did. In fact most of the people in the thread said they didn't mind at all and voiced their fear that complaining it would lead to just this: broadcasts not being used at all anymore.

I don't see why, when you log on, you are informed in the system box of any events and their times. That way you can read it or leave it as you prefer.

Once again a cop out. Only our money is important not our gameplay. If we go to the trouble of arranging player events (because SoR are too busy cocking up the next chapter) they could at least help a little. Devs are not needed to broadcast. The GM is capable of that.
