I agree here. Supreme items and mats should not be that common, and as you said, excellent mats and items more common than supreme but still less common than choice as choice would be the standard. I think we were all spoiled before by the abundance of supreme mats and items from the constant reboots.calel wrote:Quote:

Agreed, choice should be the norm imo, excellent scarce and supreme almost unavailable. The many server reboots spoiled the markets and people should indeed learn to live with it. The whole concept of supreme materials and our markets was designed to be like this; not to be dependant on server reboots.
And I' ve said it before: a crafter that knows what mixes to use can easily create a choice item that can rival an excellent item.
As grimjim said as well as some others, trying to find mats at the vendors has been a problem going on for several months now. Lots of people storing mats at the vendors but just not putting much up for sale. Even though its just choice and usually lvl 140 stuff..............hopefully soon 150............, when I put it up for sale, usually marked up 50% to 75%, it sales pretty quickly. Same goes for higher level mats I get from going on high level hunts. Right now there seem to be a lot of guilds trying to either stock pile mats in anticipation for outposts and/or to level there crafters as quickly as possible so that they have a good, rounded equipment base so as to be a better equipped guild than the average joe. The latter reason makes better sense as if one is stock piling for outposts, you'll probably be running out of room as outposts could be still several months out lol.

Why?
1. Players won't sell them for certain players (or player type)
2. Players won't ruin (on certain spots) or spending (in WL) whole day(s) (night/evening) trying to get supremes/excelents just for sale...(is easier to forage at "safe" spots and grind (btw much faster) and get same (more...) dappers from sales for NPC without resale.
All falling again to "for guild members only" politic.
What you wanted, that you get.
Set filter to q220+ and grade to Exc+ and look what is at merchs...
Curious, when HQ will disappear again (or already?)
If community did not appreciated, what was getting, and still complained - that should be expected as a result.
Greedy crafters? Hehe... Any crafter, who's selling above choice - is selling not for dappers, but doing social job
Complained? Don't appreciated?
No more supplies for "wide community" range...
Not many rare/needed items at merchs...
Few persons-guilds are greedy and stocking all in GH? Well, you can be happy, now large guild stocking all... Ah yes... they are altruistic and supply X members...
For small guild/guildless - "Oh sorry, say 'Tnx' for current situation on shard"
Grab friends/customers (for protection) and go dig?
Nah... Some of us/them dont need this, customers need, not "selfishes 1-2-3-.. person guilds" supplying big part of shard...
Why we/they need to sit 6/48 hours to get mats when they at least pop, and then sell for dappers, if easier just dig near TP in some 250ish zones, and grind, not collect *certain mats* for *certain type/order/recipe*.
Some wanted this result... Some just didnt understand, what they had...
And etc.
Join one of large guild and enjoy with "free/almost free" best stuffs?
1. i doubt that free in-guild stuffs are always best.
2. Not all want to join guild due to different play style - but this is their problems
3. Not all can find suitable guild (Reasons.: Faction/playstyle/timezone/guild politic/player which are already in guild/Few active players/etc)
4. Not many guild have really experienced (not only hi-lvl crafters)
5.Many don't want to join guild and after some time see total guild politics change..
As far as digging and supplying for one's guild and its crafters and/or the crafters crafting mainly for guildies, what is wrong with that??? Part of the reason for joining a guild is to play with a group of people that share a common interests, and one of the several benefits of being in a guild is to have access to the guilds harvesters and crafters.
Now, where I see solution is for a group of people or an already existing guild want to take on being a merchant type group trying to meet the supply and demand of those guilds and/or individuals around the open Atys market. Said group would need to get together and discuss what is needed and where in which markets. Pricing and distribution of profits within said group would need to be discussed as well.
The majority of the community did and still do appreciate the job of crafters and diggers, but just got spoiled by the quanity of supreme and excellent mats not to mention the really nice items as a result. I think again the result of less supreme and excellent items and mats available on the market is due to less being available because of not as many server reboots. In addition, guilds I think are really concentrating on getting better organized with outposts hopefully on the horizon. In a sense this is guild politics I guess, but not so much so as trying to punish the rest of the Atysian populous as looking after its own members first. Another point is that some of the higher level crafters only make items per request as they don't want to buy and then resell their wares at higher prices. Remember the fuss over those individuals who were buying and reselling Haddo's wonderful jewelry several months back? I as a crafter would stop putting my wares on the market and then only take orders by request if that happened to me. Of course then you run into the problem if you are making items that are in high demand of getting bombarded with tells to the point of not being able to play the game.
As in the real world, ingame markets fluctuate and change over time too so I doubt if this situation will last forever.
