I and I think everyone in Evolution supports RP. We made quite a few Rp events remember? But we are also a friendly, Karavan oriented guild, not because we hate Kami's but we are Tryker, and Trykers are Karavan supporters. If there would be any difference between the two factions, Kami-Karavan RPing would make sense, but we have cloudy visions at best, what being a Kami supporter means. So what are we talking about? RPing is good I love it, but without the rules it ends up being Chaos (with big C). If there would be hunters, not only harvesters in PR, RP PKing (with a warning beforehand of course) it would be fun, since once you attacked someone, others would rally to him pro and contra amd a funny kill the other faction battle could evolve. But since the mobs are enough threat to make the hunters running away crying, this will never happen.
I can imagine the Pking like this:
Psylo, standing behind Kara supporter in Pr with ql 250 amps: "Are you a Karavan fan?"
Kara supporter diggin, while watching the patrols: "Yep, could you stand a bit to the side, I can't see the patrols coming like this?!"
Psylo, using lvl 250 uber nuke spell: "Then you must die! Kami alone is best!"
Kara supporter dies in two shots while trying to equip his amps: "%$ßđ# you Psylo!"

Doesn't sound very fair right? Didn't want to flame you Psylo, no personal bad feelings against you, juts trying to add another point of view. As I said before I like RPing, even PKing while RPing, just don't think the current situation is right for it. Maxbe later...

Raynes trys hard and loves the game, I'v said before to him hes welcome to try and take me out anytime he wishes and since last time i killed him i havent seen him since. Common man digging is boring as hell it makes it fun if ya try to take a swing at me now and again

No patrols tho in PvP zones so really ya should be watching for blue dots and doing ya /who every few mins. If ya worryed about a patrol but put up with them, why not a PKer in non patrol areas?

This part of my thread was sarcastic and meant for fun! I KNOW this will not happen like this and that Ray is a good guy most likely after all. All I wanted to say, is that a digger is happy to be alive in PR, and quite defensless, so it's not very nice to slaughter him, even in the name of RP.

After all its a problem with the term "pk". Because we all had our experience with them in other games. Most of them where destructive idiots.

My first login to Diablo 1 ended PKed after 5 minutes. Was lvl1 or 2 and left the game for ever.

In Diablo 2 the DEVs took more care of this and restricted PvP in some ways.
Anyway i had very hard times with those PK. Killing me when soloing Diablo and got his HP bar almost down. Kill-steal happend often enough. Only another patch (switch to hostile only in town) brought back some peace to the game.

Even harder times i had when started hardcore. Those hardcore PKs are kind of Kamikaze but seem to feel well in that role. It brought me to solo HC in closed games or play only with very good friends.

I am willing to give Raynes a chance. If it turns out that he is just coldblooded then i will make up my mind agin.

I for one welcome it because atm IMHO the game is to much grind level after level, not enough action involved / distinctly lacking game play, which is a bit boring, hence why a lot people go off and do their own thing (RP events)!

Kami dont like Karavan and vice versa, simple, so why shouldnt both sides spark off now and then? Was there not an event recently involving this?

Its simple if you go PR to harvest, then take a team with you. Afterall, you have to team with most things!

Neither K side adhere to the harvest rules, lol! Seems a bit of a waste of space this one in the game lore IMO!

I think that this guy may need to higher some help as now his name is known some karavan followers may be lurking in PR waiting for him! And this may be 'unfair' as he wont know what has hit him because he wont be able to idnetify his true enemies easily but they will know him!

Also, some guilds dont get on with others, so why not fight each other in pvp areas, makes it much more interesting! Then you can work diplomacy etc / make allies / enemies etc.

And by all acounts you should be pretty high level in PR anway, thus restricitng the action to those who should know better / experience to deal with it, and it not being inflicted on some poor newb like me

At end of the day if dont want to die stay out PvP and go fly the flag for green peace! Honestly! Whats the point in PvP if you dont fight?
Whole point of a warning meassage 'you are now entering a PvP area', even gives you a nice count down! So for me, let the battles commence! This then also gives people something to aim for when levelling, ie if i get my nuke up i can help my guld fight so and so etc, instead of mindless levelling - atm i see no point in levelling to 250 other than to get bragging rights.

So im summary, PvP should be Pvp, end of, if you dont like it then dont go there, simple! You can work round it with bribes / tactics / teams / diplomacy etc, adds much more to the game than a simple we wont kill each other end of!

I don't get on nearly as much as I'd like, and when I do I sometimes have to spend a lot of that time waiting on mats etc in PR.

If someone comes up to me and wants to fight because they're a roleplayer, then believe me I'm not in the least bit interested. You want to roleplay to have fun, that's fine. I get my fun by digging and crafting and although I have no problem with others roleplaying, I'm not interested in it, and if somebody kills me when I'm in my focus kit simply because of their in-game religious views, I will take that as a very personal and unfriendly act, especially if I've made it clear that I am not interested in faction based RP.

People have said that foragers will have to carry their PvP kit with them. I don't have PvP kit and I don't want to waste a single point of bulk on unnecessary kit when I'm foraging (I only take my amps in case someone needs a res).

Prime Roots are dangerous enough as it is. I know I may sound a bit harsh on this issue but I feel very strongly about this. I have enough problems in rl and one of my stress outlets is Ryzom. I do not want to have it spoilt for me by someone who feels the need to get their fun at the expense of others, and however you try to describe it, if you kill another player who doesn't want to be a part of your roleplaying, then you're having fun at that person's expense, which in my book makes you a griefer.

What about if you dont RP but simply want those limited Supreme mats that everyone is running about for? If ya digging in PvP zone ya just might get killed by a player so he/she can get them uber mats and atleast ya not getting DP from a Kirosa. Ichor, Wastlands and Underspings and safe if you really dont want to take that risk.
