Here's my thoughts, for what they aren't worth

And to explain, I am part of a guild, but I pretty much act as a lone player as far as digging/crafting goes as I'm the only Zorai in a Matis/Karavan guild.
I'm now a lvl 182 jungle harvester and I craft light and heavy armor at about ql 130. I dig all day and grind off the armor I can using those mats I dig. I tend to dig choice mats for the most part for the higher exp than fine/basic. So I make decent, but not awesome, armor. Most of the time when I'm grinding armor I turn off the boosts so I don't wipe out my focus.
When I go to sell all the grind armor back to the merchant I won't sell the armor that doesn't have boosts, it seems like a waste of time to me. If I've made decent armor I will sell at least 3-5 of each piece at only the default 100% on to the players through the merchant. I won't sell fine and below stuff because I know I wouldn't buy it if choice was available.
I hardly ever have anyone buying my stuff. I don't know if it's just not needed, or if it's not good enough, but it usually falls off the merchant. And I'm not selling it for the money. I'm trying to make it available to people at a reasonable price. If I were making items using exc/sup mats that I had dug myself, I would probably sell them for a bit more as to not weaken the market for exc/sup stuff. Because it is harder to get the mats for.
I don't craft lower ql armor for the merchants because it's a waste of the exp I would get from higher ql items. If someone asks me to make lower, I gladly do, and usually for free because I like to help.
I make about 300k-600k when I grind through the mats on two full packers. I have enough money to do what I want to do. What I want to do... buy some ql 130+ basic/fine/choice grind mats off of a merchant that don't cost 40-50k a mat.
My main complaint is that when I go to the merchants I can never find more than 15 mats in fine/basic/choice that are priced anywhere near reasonable. Sure, I'd love to buy that stack of choice desert sap, but I can't afford to pay 5 million for it. I don't think I should have to pay a months worth of income for a stack someone dug in 40 minutes. And to clarify... I don't pay the outrages prices, I just go dig it up myself and wish it would go faster.
I, for one, would be very happy to just dig and sell the mats on to the players at a decent price, except I just love crafting way too much to do that. Maybe I should do that. Maybe more of us should. I dunno.
A pure crafter cannot make it without a guild. There aren't any mats to buy to keep them going. And I've found that even in a large guild, unless you are the guild crafter, you still have to dig all your own mats.
I can understand guilds wanting to keep their stuff in the guild. One thing I ask though... what harm would it be to put more choice type stuff up for sale? Help make the mundane stuff more available. At a price that non-uber players can afford. It seems like the "keep it in guild" policy could actually harm Ryzom to some extent. Mind you, I'm not talking about exc and supreme stuff... unless you want to.
Sorry if this is really jumbled, I just wrote down what came to me when it did.
