Wow this thread became quite bitter
I share your views in most of the aspects about SoR... Yesterday, i was thinking the best word for SoR is POSSIBILITY, while for WoW it's PERFECTION. Now before you flame me, perfection doesn'T mean the game is perfect or better then SoR. It means that Blizzard polished every single bit in the game, and every part fits perfectly to the other, even the smallest little things. Of course you have zero freedom in the game, but if you do something, you will feel that it's implemeted right, and you won't notice the slightest roughness in anything, be it leveling, sending mail or the missions. Simple, but perfect, although unchangable, like a huge colossus of gold.
Now SoR is absolutly different, since you can do what you want, whenever you want, be whatever you want. Think on the rites: if you meet some prerequisites, you can do any rite anywhere, at any level. On the other hand this means some aspects of the game are lacking: story, missions, or anything which would make you want to do anything. This is no problem, until you can self-motivate yourself, but what is after that? If you are bored with your character in WoW you start another, which gives a total different experience, but in SoR it's not like it. The only thing that make you want this game is the community, after some time. Honestly, if there weren't some guys in my guild, who I dare to call my friends, I would have left already... So a very special thanx goes out to Evolution, and one even more special to Drakfot, my in-game sister! *bows*
All you guys, who find SoR boring, all I can tell you, is that wait until the Outpost come out. It may be the salvation for this game, or the doom. MAke a little pause until that. Make new friends if possible. But in the end, either you will know if you want to stay or not. If you go home and can't stop yourself from entering the game good. If no... well we will miss you very much...
