Wow this thread became quite bitter :(
I share your views in most of the aspects about SoR... Yesterday, i was thinking the best word for SoR is POSSIBILITY, while for WoW it's PERFECTION. Now before you flame me, perfection doesn'T mean the game is perfect or better then SoR. It means that Blizzard polished every single bit in the game, and every part fits perfectly to the other, even the smallest little things. Of course you have zero freedom in the game, but if you do something, you will feel that it's implemeted right, and you won't notice the slightest roughness in anything, be it leveling, sending mail or the missions. Simple, but perfect, although unchangable, like a huge colossus of gold.
Now SoR is absolutly different, since you can do what you want, whenever you want, be whatever you want. Think on the rites: if you meet some prerequisites, you can do any rite anywhere, at any level. On the other hand this means some aspects of the game are lacking: story, missions, or anything which would make you want to do anything. This is no problem, until you can self-motivate yourself, but what is after that? If you are bored with your character in WoW you start another, which gives a total different experience, but in SoR it's not like it. The only thing that make you want this game is the community, after some time. Honestly, if there weren't some guys in my guild, who I dare to call my friends, I would have left already... So a very special thanx goes out to Evolution, and one even more special to Drakfot, my in-game sister! *bows*
All you guys, who find SoR boring, all I can tell you, is that wait until the Outpost come out. It may be the salvation for this game, or the doom. MAke a little pause until that. Make new friends if possible. But in the end, either you will know if you want to stay or not. If you go home and can't stop yourself from entering the game good. If no... well we will miss you very much...

Its a very cool idea, in my opinion. Get 1 team with everybody in it with 3 packers and you have 27 packers following you. Must be one sight to see.
I think hiring guards won't be the problem. I know certain persons who do anything for dappers.
(Now that I think of it, I havent seen Rashan doing a bellydance for me!)
Until now i am not bored and not rich enough to do so every day :D

Could be a nice event. Maybe loading packers with mats and craft at the spot in yrk, pyr and zora. Maybe up to q100 for lower chars at an easy price.

I now have been through bounty beaches and Loria. It would take perfect organisation to bing all meks through alive. Would take guards front, rear and bot sides. Would take perfect communication between guards and those puling the meks. This could take several hours to complete...

But might be a really cool thing in action and rpg...

I am in! Move is almost over, just allow me to do some co-organizing, as once every two weeks, I have parental activities.

Finally the Karavanning I was dreaming of when I bought my first mount!

And no running! All at a meks walk speed will add serious rp possibilities.

yep, must agree another fine idea sxarlet, hope you plan to go through with the planning of it, would look awsome. On one of the official trailers theres a similar sort of thing, but not to the scale you propose.

cant wait ;)

I have been toying with the idea of a global Mount GP, so players or teams will have to gain points per race, get a medal per race, but can call themselves world champion after 5 races! (last one, PR :D )

Fantastic ideas guys, but as already mentioned these are things we are creating ourselves for our own amusement!

Mek racing would prehaps be an idea for one of these side games, like playing cards for dappers. Become 'champion racer'. But with these ideas they take a lot of development which takes a lot of time and money!

This game has such a fantastic base that it can only get better. And with the dev''s listening to the players we can have input into how it gets developed. Ok, it doesnt have the structure or quite the gameplay other games do yet......but i think it will come, and the best thing is we get a say!?

I think a must for retaining players is to do something about extending the game, too many people are hitting lvl 250 and are doing other things for their own amusement / for the love of the game. This will only keep you amused for so long, and from this thread see that people are getting bored!
And what is the point in getting to lvl 250 - none at present because of the substationally lacking storyline / rp element. The only thing people lvl high for IMO is to repel an kitin invasion as this is our common enemy! What would i happen if we failed, perhaps no one should fight next time and see what happens?!?!?! (Nothing is my guess....and there lies in another problem....we will always win!)

Gvg or pvp that this game will involve will only keep you amused so much IMHO, at present there seems little point in gvg or pvp! This game is very neutral at present, ie kami and karavan not at war. There's no good vs evil like most other games have! (at present - say what you will bout the ....hmmm...just thought of something....KKK = Karavan + Kami + Kitin, their all evil :) .

Perhaps the vision of neverax is to develope the story as you play now that they have a good player base. Which is truely an awesome thing for a game, sort of AI on a different level, but AI being the devs!!

I agree with what has been said before and that IMHO it is only the community / social that keeps people interested and the possibilty of a massive fight with kitins etc!

Just a fe thoughts from the 'Saint'

OK

Based on whats here and other threads:

Player organised Events that can become regular occurances....

Mekky Trekkies - regular trains of Packers that run from each capital to the next.

Needs Guards, hired or for the fun of it.

Needs Rich merchant type willing to lose packers full of stuff, maybe they can buy insurance from the guards .... eg arrive safely they get a bonus, fail and they guards have to compansate for losses!

Players need to travel between lands can join the fun!

Atys M1 - racing teams can be created with a pit crew (guards, refuelers, etc) and 2 riders, if we make it regular the point can be maintained here and we can have prizes, etc (I guess the Ferrari equvilent will have 10 AoD's as the pit crew and the riders will be on Tenwo's)

Gun Fight on Kami Hill A little range event I am toying with

The grand auction Hold an auction in a capitol, maybe just after the Mekki Trekki arrives in town

4 very simple ideas, that can be expanded on.....

do your stuff peeps......

where this thread will go now nobody knows......

Woot! Tenwo rules! Still not sure what he does, but he is mine!
Gun fight...

As the sun is setting over the beautifull Tryker hills and a Yubo is scurrying in the Kami's tents, two Tryker's approach from opposite directions.
A little ball of choice lake buo fiber at ql150 tumbles by, a long way from Fount.
"Neun, I love your sister, why do you keep messing with her mind?"
"Crythos, this town is not big enough for the two of us, even as we are not to large to begin with."
"Owkee, prepare to eat lead, betrayer of Atys."
