How is Nevrax doing financially? Will they be able to sustain the servers for another year or is there danger of the game being pulled-the-plug?
Let me second that. I doubt we'll get an answer, but it's an important question. Related to that (another one that won't be answered): How many active subscribers are there currently, worldwide and in the U.S. ?

oh while we are at it ;)

Is Saga Of Ryzom intended to be just a showcase for the NeL engine that Nevrax is trying to sell?

Well, I personally don't believe it is, but I am asking anyway to see how they'll respond.

(The reason I don't beleive that SoR is just a showcase for an NeL engine is because the story and settings are too fleshed out and elaborated. This is a very well designed work-in-progress universe, even down to the naming scheme of cities, worlds, and mobs.)

1. Can you please explain why everything that changes is not noted in the patch notes. Do you have a plan to fix this or is it working as intended?

2. As you are not a public company, it would be nice for us to get some idea of where you are going with the game. As noted before, an idea of what is coming and a description of what you mean. Maybe this could be a ranked feature addition list.

3. We would all like to see more people around, and seeing people leave presents a very bad image at this stage. What are you doing to give the game lasting appeal, and what can we do to ensire that the game move along as well.

4. Is there any intention to provide a system that will allow players to create missions, tasks, or quests? I would love to be able to teach new players things and I do, but repeating the same stuff 30+ times is trying. If I could create Missions and descriptions that I could post with intructions I could teach many people many things. Maybe a limit of 10. It could be like a message board. I could even post a reward for completing my mission.

Ok, we've done a pretty good job with the "Your Questions" part (see title of thread).

When can we expect the "Our Answers" part?

lyrah68 wrote:Great idea! From what I understand about fame, which Raynes knows WAY more than me, is that each mission has a certain value, which is less than ONE full point in fame. I THINK that higher level, more dangerous, more complicated missions that don't reward with cash, reward with a HIGHER value than those missions that are lower level, easier to do, don't have a timer, and pay dappers. Raynes, correct me if I am wrong please.
I wish I could answer this, but I can't. Like the encylopedia the fame system in this game is incredibly complex and very hard to really figure out. This is what has been found out so far (not only by me but in general).

1) All missions give fame. It's the amount of fame that varies.
2) The higher up you go the less fame you will get from lower level missions.
3) Killing NPC's that you get xp from will give you fame of some sort. If they are below your level and you get no xp, then you get no fame.
4) The amount of fame changes the higher you go. So when you have 20 personal fame for a group, getting to 30 will be pretty easy. If you have 95 personal fame with a group, getting to 100 will be extremely slow and painful.
5) If you have low fame levels you will get different fame rewards than if you have high fame levels. So if you do a Zorai mission and only have 20 personal Kami fame, you might get Kami fame awarded. However if you do that same mission and have 90 Kami personal fame, you won't get any Kami fame awarded.
6) Right now there are no real benefits to fame only penelties. If you get bad enough fame you can loose spawn points, loose the ability to have npcs (including vendors) talk to you, loose the ability to train up skills (because the trainers won't speak to you), have tribes attack you on site, as well as loose the ability to take missions and have access to rites. There is NO benefit to having 80 personal fame above 30 personal fame.

Here are a few more questions:

1) Currently you are running a contest that involves riddles and puzzles. When can we expect some puzzle content in game? Content that upon completion will enhance our gameplay?

2) Right now the only difference between the races is the look of the character models. Are you ever going to introduce racial differences (if that be skills or objects used) that will make each race unique?

3) Roleplaying in this game needs work to say the least. The game seems to completly lack the tools for the player or the staff to really make it work. So I have a few questions on this. What are your thoughts as devs on roleplaying, how much or how little do you see it as a part of gameplay? Do you plan on introducing any chat tabs or areas dedicated specifically to roleplaying? What about GM's, do you have any plans to give them the tools that would allow them to jump into character on the spur of the moment to help in roleplay?

4) Why on Jena's wooden Atys do you have chats set up by region yet no global chat or racial chats?

5) Why do you think that the Zorai are the least played race? What are your plans to improve that?

Can you please describe in detail what your intention of a living world is, and what the path to get there is. I have grand dreams that are not currently fulfilled and would like to know what I am expecting.

My first goal would be not to have a server failure/patch result in the world changing from how it was 2 minutes prior to the event.

Second goal, have our actions actually mean something. Extinction of animals (for some period), or migration of them away from an area, mob intrusion into an area, etc.

Here's a good one. It's almost been a week. When are we going to get an answer? and this question, though good. Doesn't count.

This was just another delay wasn't it? I think I found something I like. Eve. So I guess I'll see you guys there.
