"There are no more employees, no servers, a large portion of the player base has already moved on to other games, and we don't know if we would be able to get the server data including the characters."

I'm looking at this from the buyer's side. If I truly "had control" what would I do ? "Nothing" would be at the very bottom of any list I can imagine so I think that in and of itself is a message. I can only think of two scenarios where "nothing" fits:

1. They are not at liberty to proceed.
2. We don't figure into their plans

talking about the player base they could`nt expect the players too sit around and do nothink sure they moved on and i best most would come back if/when servers opened.

They are not at liberty too proceed with ryzom but before when the judge order ryzom should proceed spiderweb still had put a bid forward meaning they had intrest in keeping the game alive

it was also posted that spiderweb own all assets of ryzom player data base comes with it would be my guess

After doing a bit of research I found multiple Laurent Faure's.
Besides the aforementioned Laurent Faure whose a lawyer and founder
of Neuromedia, I found three others.

One works for Airbus.
He's probably the one with the all the airplane pix. It's not
likely he's our guy.

Another is an fund manager in London.
He's a strong possiblity.

Yet another is the head of the FFMTG(French Federation of Magic the Gathering).
At least he's involved in gaming.

Neuromedia International seems far more interested in human rights than in online games. The Benoit Faure there is not the same as the previous Benoit Faure. Also Neuromedia-Benoit Faure's age is wrong to be the Director of Spiderweb. I suspect that you have discovered the wrong Faure's.

Ah, ummm, I'd wait a little and hope we hear something from Spiderweb. No need to speculate on identities. Faure is a common patronym in France, and Laurent is a very common first name.

If it's the guy from "MagIc TG" this is his email: tireleni@msn.com
taken here:

If it's the fund manager guy his skype id is: laurent-london
His middle name is Romanelli aswell btw.
Internet can do miracles ;)

P\S there are 5 other Laurent Faures in skype worth a try :)

That's most likely possible that they're the wrong ones, but it's the only site where I found both a Benoit and a Laurent Faure, which is why I mentioned it here.
