Dont know about anyone else but i have no "cause" i just want the game to go on and for this to stop and the advertisers and promoters to go away as normally this is not allowed so I can enter a discussion thread without seeing stuff that clearly doesn't belong on the forum so I can discuss the game I play. I don't like it when uumax is pointing out a scenario that is
difficult to predict based on his own immense hatred of the free and
open source community, he is failing to look at the proposal in any
sort of pragmatic way; and is even failing to take into account what
the proposal attempts to do which is to keep ryzom the way it is
currently. the idea that we just can't wait to get our hands on the
game in order to change it into something else is false and an
allegation I don't appreciate.

Uumax please don't attack new players who are just finding out what
ryzom is, I mean you shouldn't really be attacking anyone what so
ever, it is against the forum rules. discuss and be rational not
emotionally destructive.

I do find it ironic as only emotive posts can be that it is those who
inform others what they presume to be the truth and presume what is
best for their community; for they are being truly religious and
dogmatic.

I do feel sorry for you uumax, I think your scared and are not
thinking rationally any longer; We're all scared and we're doing the
best we can. in the end it looks likely that we will all loose our
community and we will all loose our game. There is a small hope that
the .org can save it but the chances that a company will step in and
save ryzom and it's community and leave it the way it is, is quite
unlikely that it must be better to support your fellow players than
berate them for trying their best on your behalf.

at the end of the day, we want to play a game, we want to play a good
game and we don't want to loose our friends.

He signed up there and said why he was there and then a week later appears here no he is not a new player lol he is a member of ryzom.org period who picked up a user name in order to post

he's advertising he has not posted one single damned post on any other issue other then the benefits of FSF or ryzom.org and no it does not belong on this forum and you know it

that has NOTHING to do with ryzom the game NOTHING its a guy totting his software ideas and no i dont mind free software i hate the way this group is dealing with it sorry

Interesting, so your saying that we've attracted someone to the ryzom
game, who is a supporter of FOSS and because he got here by being a
programmer you wish to crush him before he even starts getting to know
the game. regardless of weather this person has an alterer motive or
not, it doesn't give you the right to attack people. you can be
reasonable and discuss what hes saying but don't use where he comes
from and his personal wistful thinking on another forum as a reason to

funny I thought we were just discussing the merits of a proposal, I
didn't think is was advertising since it directly effects this
community don't you think it's a good idea to talk about things on
their merits and not some awful idea that people are posting to sell
hair cream which would be adverts; there is nothing the .org needs
from here. there is nothing to advertise.

it someone else who said he couldn't stand free software people? I
mean I understand if you just like to download other peoples work
without giving a damn about the people who spent their time writing
it. but to spew such gaul over them over being emotionally provoked is

Again you fail to keep on the real subject about scrutinising the real
issues and being fair and balanced minded about a proposal. how come
lots of other people can be far more balanced. at least their saying
.org is a very last resort and lets see how it pans out.

If you haven't anything more to say on the issues and just want to
poke at people without logic then just stop answering questions. I
think you've made your points well understood so far.

oh boy, I just read the 'max post, my big hug ears went red, but somehow I couldn't stop thinking about Irish girls. Man, that tommyflower was cute, and bright. I met her in amsterdam, only briefly... Her drunk friend was inviting my brother and me to her wedding. I doubt she remembers me, but that flower will keep a place in my heart.

I am very glad 'max can count. I'm happy that the educational system in atys hasn't fallen into abyss with all these faction wars tearing little homins homes apart.

not once have i said that i dare you to find a post where i said i hated free software people

what i have said though it that i have disliked how this particular group is dealing with it

i have also said they are trying to explain the virtue's of free software and win people over who most likely want to stay away from it (that's not me lol sorry)

I have said this particular group has fluanted itself mercilessly on this forum for way to long and has not done it in a polite manner and if we must be lobbied i would like it if someone with manners (and I used you as an example actualy) did it

I use LInux redhat on the servers i run so yes i use free source software but not once has a linux.org groupy spammed me or the games i play

what I dislike is the way people are still busy trying to tell the same group of people why we should like it.. your taking turns from ryzom.org doing it too

now if you cant see that sorry but that is what it feels like one group leaves and another comes and starts with the links and the reasons over again meanwhile the community reading this thread that is not a part of ryzom.org is in fact pretty static so we get to hear it and talk about it over and over and over and over and over and over and over

now we got posts to go digg ryzom.org in another thread

again if you can't see that for what it is then i'm sorry but that is what it is..

how about stopping you guys got a site and those that are interested go there and talk about free software and linux and blender and all the rest of them there why not leave this forum to talk about ryzom that's what its for

so again the information is misplaced and its not stopping and its leaking into the rest of the forum
