<disclaimer: not 100% definitive fact, so don't quote me>
As far as I'm aware, the process of transferring ownership of a company and all its assests is quite a long and involved process that can take a lot of time. The reason it was so (relatively) painless last time was because the liquidation was ordered to be "with continuation"; the previous company kept things going 'as normal' during the changeover until the new company was ready. This time however, this is not the case so things are taking a lot longer, so it's likely that Spiderweb don't have total control over everything yet - unfortunately I have no idea how long it's going to be until they do

I think it only means "Spiderweb" is
first in line to own Ryzom and associated assets.
My understanding is this:
Right now, the question the liquidator has to resolve, is who actually owns Ryzom, since GameForge apparently only paid 10% of what they promised to pay to Nevrax. And this process is likely to take time. So, don't wait on Spiderweb yet, I think they're also waiting.

Hekla, I believe that they wouldn't have been allowed to start bidding were that not sorted out. Mostlikely an agreement was come to whereby the new owners will pay the first liquidator what GF owed; of GF de paid the difference.

Quite possible. It might also explain the amount of the bid. But I doubt that the GameForge-Nevrax contention is solved, and that "Spiderweb" owns the game today. I wish to be proved wrong.

I find this lack of communication from Spiderweb quite depressing. I would hope that he would tell us what his intentions are for the game, whether good or bad. I'm sure as the winning bidder he can do that without compromising his position, unless he just doesnt care. Even if he intends to shelve the thing somewhere, tell us that and at least we can get on with our gaming "lives".

Master Sword
Master HA Amoursmith
Master PR Dig
Master Desert Dig
* I thought I should list it once its what I accomplished in my time in Ryzom.

I'm pretty sure that IF they were allowed to tell something, they would.
But as far I remember France law doesnt really give them the option to talk untill everything is over (I think, dont shoot me if I'm wrong
)

I think it's normal the lack of communication at this time.
Unless the new owner is already linked with Ryzom in some way, they sure need time to get the knowledge of the game architecture and the source code. Even with a very well documented project, people need time to get into. Unless they get the old developers team (if any is still waiting) i don't think we get news for now.
If the problem is the french law i can be optimistic, otherwise, some announcement could give the game a starting 'hype' to work on and move the name of Ryzom around the market. If the new owner don't do it, maybe he is not interested in it (but only in the technology).
"After a huge battle, the goo overflooded killing our big plant, Atys.
But, with the help of Jena and Marduk, Karavans and Kamis (in a new friendly relationship) helped the whole homin's population to safety leave the planet, with most of the animals.
For many days, a long caravan of homins and animals mixed together, walked thru the desert of the Fyros to reach the land where karavans and kami starships were waiting... That was the last, dangerous, trek in Atys.
Maybe a new home is near and the homins will soon admire that big rings in the sky, wonderfully colored by the new dawn: Ryzom Reborn."

"Winning the bid" is just one step, now the judges have to consider all the other part of the plan (what about the ex-employees, the bills etc....).....and Ruhen was true about that...no communication before ALL is fixed - before it's official and totally approved by the court.
Not shooted today mate

Xavier just confirmed that "Spiderweb" (whoever that may be) is Ryzom's new owner, since March 18; this seems to indicate "Spiderweb" owns all assets now (
source).
