I read it when it was first put up, and I read it now. Beyond people's opinion of the drastic change (Almost everyone hates big changes in their life, only in life you don't have the option of cancelling your subscriptions and renewing it later), I didn't agree then, and I still do not.

Pre-patch combat had mobs with rediculously large amounts of hp. When you have 15+ people beating on a lvl 150-200 mob for well over a minute (using blind) when you still have to clear 5-6 more of them to move past, is just wrong. Especially when said mobs have an AE damage that is constant during the fight. And at higher levels, with higher quality weapons, you have to use more stamina and hp to pay for attacks. Which in turn would be more than a healer can handle if you have multiple melees in a group. As it is, you have to have a healer, and a healer for the healer/mages. Unless you want to have have half the party be healers, longer battles are not in anyones best interest. And they would be even longer without the benefit of blinding.

I do think they upped damage on the aggressive mobs too much. Which they are addressing. And in the past week they have put through 3 more patches adjusting and toning things down. Most recently included a significant increase in dodge/parry chances. I believe the general formulae they are working on is good, but certain variables (carnivore damage/magic resists) need work. Which they have acknowledged and are working on it(For NA, the Themis Group is doing their CS, so they are the messengers).

But even pre-patch certain monsters had high damage attacks that they would do regularly, just people wouldn't fight them. Zerx, Kipesta, and Kinchers would be good examples of this. No healer could keep up with double 'big hits', nor could many tanks live through 2 (and at times even 1) attack from these. Now, they can more readily with their increased healing.
And post-patch herbivores are still soloable. Mobs hitting for 443 giving a team of 4 1500xp a kill (highest level was 160).

Honestly, if it were changed back to pre-patch 1, I believe people would leave on that account as well. It would show that Nevrax will just give the players what they want all the time, ignoring their own plans for the game. I'd much rather see a medium. Rather than them just 'selling-out' to popular opinion. I'd rather not have this turn out to be a 'boy-band' brand of MMO. That's what WoW is for. Programming is an art, and trying to assert pressure on an artist always nets poor results.

I am not against re-adjusting combat to a less lethal form. If that will make it more enjoyable for others. I am against reverting it to pre-patch 1 sans blind. It's better to have a give-and-take/balanced situation, than a demand (no matter how passive aggressive).
