This was declared to be an exploit. I don't say I agree with it. Everyother MOG I have played a healer could heal themselves with ANY healing skill/spell they had. I think having to use self heal hp etc is not the right way to work it.
Lyrah, I am not talking about magic, I am not talking about self-heal. In my previous post, I flat out said that I understand the not being able to use magic to heal my mek.
The thing is, AURAS not only work on you, but everybody around you. What I am wondering is if they work on the meks, too. Seeing as how maigc is not on a timer, as such, and how this affects everybody in an area, INCLUDING YOU, I was curious if this is held to the same restrictions regarding packers and the like that magic is.

I think Mounts (and Packers) should be able to zone.
I have never understood why packers are not able to. Is this just some coding limitation with the game or is there a RP reason?
Playing dress-up with my Mount sounds like loads of fun! I definetly like that idea.

Mounts can go from zone to zone. I took my first mount from Zora into the Prime Roots. Mounts can also swim.

Personally, I would love to see mounted combat eventually, tho I suspect there would be a myriad of balance and coding problems. Still, can you just see a cavalry charge, and a line of pikes grounded and waiting for it? Launchers and autolaunchers playing the role of cannons? Perhaps new skills for the existing weapons branches, like mounted 1h sword (cavarly saber), mounted 1h lance, mounted pistol? I would see the 2h weapons of all sorts as infrantry weapons, too bulky for a rider to manage. Mounted pistol would breath new life into a woefully underpowered weapon. Anyway, probably just a fantasy, full of practical problems. Can't get the "Charge of the Light Brigade" out of my head...

I think if mounts can zone, like Raynes says they can, then mounts are worth it...once they work out the kinks/bugs.
I LOVE the idea of a cavalry charge, complete with mektoub snorting, snarling and shouting riders. The clang and boom of battle, don't forget the smoke from the explosions.
Not sure IF or when mounted combat will come into game. But around that time I would LOVE to see taming come into game. And yes, they could add a WHOLE new skill tree. Just like if you do NOT start out with Crafting, Foraging or Magic you could "buy" the "taming start" and the mob you could tame, and the level/hp's of that tamed creature could go up with skills. As you successfully tame a mob, you would gain xp, much like if you killed it (since taming level would be lower than melee, at least to start...you would gain xp based off Taming skill tree and get FULL xp....up to the 3k max). I could see failures as either mob ignores you, mob befriends you or mob attacks you. And success you gain another packer/mount or "pet". You should be able to sell these mounts/packers/pets to the stable boy for sale on to other players, much like the armor/weapons/jewelery currently is.
I would also like to see food forageable, just drop the food onto the food/mission items table, OR add materials nodes for them.

Mounts...mounts... oh i know, target practice.
No but seriously, just need them to grant double movement speed, thats all.
And they are killable, and healable, like any player is. Should have to dismount to fight tho, as fighting off horseback would be quite an advantage.
Oh and we must be able to name them, Fluffydoom must become a reality

I agree with some of the others here. Fix what is broke then implement new things. This game would attract and keep new players if many things were not broken.
And on a side note how about some level 300 mobs so that i can actually level my high level melee without whoring the xp. I would rather see that than mounts.

The way you and I were dying last night, I can see why the "Charge of the Light Brigade" comes to mind.
LOL.

The only thing is that you can not ride on the mounts when you want to go to another zone. You have to unmount and have your animal follow you.

"Their's is not to make reply. Their's is not to reason why. Their's is but to do and die. Into the Valley of Death, rode the six hundred."
Or maybe just us 2.
Regarding mounts, it looks like the model for a while will be the Dragoon, not the Cavalry Soldier. And as always, I agree with the fix-the-broken-stuff-first opinions. But one can always dream... And I agree that if we are going to ride these meks into danger, we better be able to heal them. And they should be able to fight on their own, not just roll over and die if we can't bail them out fast enough.
