We *must* have the tools needed for mass events to not be a cluster****

You should make sure you get more fiber in your diet. It will help that.

Ok lets say they implement the idea of having one large raid group with one leader. How do you deal with the end of the line being attacked while the front is way, way ahead? And please don't say that all 50-100 players can just stick close to the leader at all times (and yes I said that in game and was wrong). There are times and places where the group has to walk along the edge in single file to get past something. It's also not just a simple matter of the people in front running back to help, the line could be so long that by the time they reach the end it will be too late.

simple solution: complete teams should always stay as close together as possible

I've only been to two events, one official and one player generated but they were both well lead once the bugs were worked out.

Great job Gfunk and Zzei!

Agreed, Big Kudos to Gfunk. I welcome good leadership and hope to take part in the mass combat classes.

I do think there should be more raid type controls in place and better lines of communication. What exactly that should be I am not sure as this is my first MMO. I will say I have found it extremely hard to target just about anything while in the large mass of people. It was extremely hard to get organized and follow my group leader and general find who ever I was looking for. Perhaps the addition of an arrow on screen (not just on the compass) like they put in racing games that points in the direction of who/what ever you wish to target. That would help orient me at least.

BTW I could really use some suggestions and making it easier to target enemies during one of these raids. I just can't seem to sort everything out on screen and actually target something quick enough to be effective.

I have been on several events with gfunk and zzei and they have all been great.

You can only do so much with a large group of different people. Some who want to play seriously, ones who want to just have fun, ones that want to cause trouble some that are just neutral.

I personally when I am in an event have just pretty much not worried about a dp. usually go in with one anyhow. and have never tried to quarter cause I have been to busy healing so have not worried about that

I am just thrilled to be in the event itself and enjoy the company of everyone and making my way somewhere.

I know what you mean Animd, I just target and hope it is an animal, especially in a big mob. I try to be very careful in my target and so far have been lucky. The healing is the hard thing. I have macros for most of my guilddmates and I have the bars all turned on for others which is a bit mind boggling. But still have hard time targeting them to heal them. Don't know if I can type fast enough to do /target (name) is there another way. That I am missing

At one event I was in, Gfunk had us turn on our labels so everybody could see what we were best at or best used as in a group. If this is taken in consideration when each group is formed, then each becomes a fractural image of the larger army. Meaning, in each group, one tank = leader; 2 mages = second and third in the list with the rest made of lower level fighters and healers. The pieces reflect the whole.

I don't professed to be experienced in fighting/war. This is just something expressing itself after *years* of my dad (USAF) disecting every war movie ever made and explaining the strategy of the real events to 3 little girls who didn't have a clue. I'm not even sure I'm explaining myself very well here in this attempt to offer a suggestion to help work with things as they are instead of laying blame and engaging in wholesale griping.

I had fun. If we hadn't make it, I still would have had fun. That's all that matters to me. Thanks for leading the two events this past weekend, Gfunk and Zzei. I'm glad I was able to attend both.

Remember, always travel in a wedge formation.

US.. = V
Kitin = x

X FOR DEAD!!! The WEDGE ALWAYS WINS!!! Plarf proved it to me when he told it was so.

I had to use two periods because the diagram was off center because the forum doesn't like more than one space at a time. If it takes the hint maybe it'll start acting a little bit more like what's between Pamela Anderson's ears.

This is exactly right! Squads are teams.
Oranazation is everything.
last time I went out in a large group my buddy kept saying "I dont know who to heal". I told him heal "our team first" then anyone you see near you that needs help if you can. But always worry about "our team first".

With this stratagy the teams care for themselves and follow the direction of the commander so the whole group survives.

I think that ALL quest loot should be like the mission items that are currently quartered, you need it, you kill it, POP into your inventory. And if they can do it solo, it should not be impossible for them to do it within an raid engine invironment. They would simply have to do the SAME checks that grant xp, if you heal or nuke, or melee, you get xp, if you stand there dumb struck...NOTHING, should be the same for the quest items in raid/event invironment.

zumwalt wrote:My experience in Ryzom is that the majority of wasted time for the players is trying to organize the groups, simply because there is no central organization mechanism, which looks like it would be covered here if they iplament some of the list.

It has taken up to an hour in this game to try to get everyone in place, then organized into groups, let alone some guilds want to keep all there players in there groups, on top of that is the heal issue.

Raids should have a longer than a 2 minute respawn time, like 5 minutes.

They should also have an equal distribution system for the quest loot that drops in raids, so that everyone in a group gets the chance to loot atleast 1 of the items.

As it stands right now, only the "kill" group gets to do the looting.
