There was a period where the nvidia stereo 3d drivers didn't work, but that was sometime ago. I just bought a Nvidia 6600 and use the latest drivers and my glasses seem to work fine.jfoxp wrote:Raynes, what drivers are you using?
The last time I used my lcd shutter glasses, I had to use 30.82...
I see that there have actually been updates (in fact, updates started right after I stopped looking for them!)
The latest stereo driver is 61.77, and the site says it requires 61.77 graphics card drivers. Are you using the 61.77 drivers for your card, or a later one? Just curious if the 61.77 stereo driver will work with later graphics drivers.

Hrm... just tried, and it fails to enable stereo in the nvidia control panel.raynes wrote:There was a period where the nvidia stereo 3d drivers didn't work, but that was sometime ago. I just bought a Nvidia 6600 and use the latest drivers and my glasses seem to work fine.
I might be do for a full driver reinstall anyway.

Did you look at the advanced options and try the test image?
Re: I'm simply in awe...
The tests wont load, claiming it's not stereo isn't enabled, not matter how many times I enable it and click Apply. In fact, if I enable it, apply, OK, then reopen the control panel, it's disabled.raynes wrote:Did you look at the advanced options and try the test image?
I'm using the 66.93 Forceware graphics driver.
61.77 Forceware stereo driver.
What versions are you using? Check the driver list in the main page of the nvidia control panel. The last four numbers are what you want.

The stereo driver and graphic driver _must_ be the same version for it to work.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
I get the same problem even if the drivers match. Spent a good part of my day testing it. I uninstalled, reinstalled, rolled back, went forward. Nothing worked. And, for the record, when I first started using stereo drivers (30.82) I was using a newer graphics driver. Depending on the changes in the graphics driver, they don't always have to match, despite what their documents say. Right now, I have no idea if the 66.93 graphics driver is compatible with the 61.77 stereo driver because I get the same results even when using the 61.77 graphics driver.magick1 wrote:The stereo driver and graphic driver _must_ be the same version for it to work.

What brand of glasses are you running? One other problem I had was when I loaded the drivers that came with the glasses along with the nvidia stereo drivers. I guess they were conflicting so I dumped the driver that came with the glasses and it solved the problem. Also make sure that the glasses type is not the red/blue kind. Check the refresh rate of your monitor too.

Yeah, I checked all that.raynes wrote:My Nvidia Driver is ver 6.14.10.6693

My computer has been more and more of a pain the last few months. I may be due for a complete reinstall.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
Did you install the graphic driver first, then the stereo driver?
Also check if you have stereo enabled in the advanced menu, I have forgotten to do that more than once.

You're missing what I'm saying. Enabling it in the advanced menu is exactly what is *not* working.magick1 wrote:Did you install the graphic driver first, then the stereo driver?
