sincerely, I started world of warcraft today as a night elf... and I find the graphics awesome, the grove is beautiful gives me the impression of being in warcraft 3, but playing from a single unit perspective... then the water.. looks utterly awesome the two quiet ponds with a few roaches.. a bunny passing by illumined by a column of light that comes from up in the tree groves.. yes, you can say it's cartoonish a bit... but it's none the less beautiful.
I didn't tried much... but I seen the quests are aweome each one leads me to another... I really like them so far, much more than the ones of ryzom, and the xp gain and money gain of these quests is worth it.
and also... on the last note the feature that made me the happyest person of the world... I am a priestess dark elf... and I have BUFFING SPELLS. which, for me, is totally awesome, I always loved buffing spells in all games I been so far in mmrpg. sadly ryzom lacks buffing spells or at least I never seen any.
in WoW I had one right away... it's not big.. neither powerful.. but lasts 30 minutes.. and tells me when it wears off.. got a timer
I'll report more later... for now I am back to play WoW.
oh and for all my friends, I am on east sever 24 (gone there cuz a friend was there already) feel free to join up the fun

As these are the RYZOM forums, I personally am not interested in your adventures within WOW. Glad you are having fun in your new FREE game. Hope that you are TESTING and not just playing for FREE.

Didn't you already say you were leaving these forums never to post here again? Plus I thought you already got told all this talk about other mmorpgs was going to get the posts deleted?

people writes opinions and reviews on WoW here and no one complains, I add my own impressions and people throws tantrums.. LOL sorry I didn't read the topic entirely 'WoW vs Ryzom' (we are trying to make look better ryzom, refrain from posting anything that could give good credit to WoW)

you are free to not agree
and who knows maybe if I play it some more I will post that it sucks, I am pretty objective on these things...
not counting the fact that I wasn't waiting for World of Warcraft by months... I kind didn't really care, for me is just another mmorpg.

The most annoying thing about wow on the PvP server is that u cant learn the enemy's language. I was pharming some mobs and i saw a tauren standing in front of me( im a human warlock). My highly intelligent Voidwalker attacks the tauren, i tell him sorry in around chat, he replies , but all i get is " Foma says: (Orcish). So i try to spark up conversation, but all he gets is (human) , and all i get is (orcish). So after a long wait, i gave up and decided to leave. Turned my back and WHACK, took an axe to the head. end of story
.

lol thankfully I didn't met pvp yet, I am not a big fan of it, for now I am amazed by the indepth of the questing stories, some are actually cute too, and each time I finish one I ketp being asked for more and more and more.
The good thing is that they are actually needed to level up... if you do it by grinding monsters only it takes a life.. it's a refreshing break from the usual grinding of games.
Also you can 'share quest' with your group, and while the monetary rewards are shared between the party they increase the xp reward of the group giving to each the base xp for the quest plus an increasing bonus for each member of the group. so the more people does toghether a quest the more xp each one gets.
and for all people who thinks I am badmouthing ryzom only because I am liking WoW here's you some thought:
Nevrax, your game is nice, but can improve.
1) buffing spells. make spells that lasts half an hour or so that improves stats, like regeneration of hitpoints, or such things, or dodge, or parry or attack damage, all for defensive casters. This will give a new interesting way to play for defensive mages.
2) you got a vast repertory of meats for quests.. make them useable items and add COOKING!
in a crafting tree, it can be interesting and fun. Also you could add NONMAGICAL HEALING skill, in craft tree doing them from fibers to make banages, to be used like self boost hitpoints in combat!

LOL actually you have a point givent he average level of maturity running in WoW (the community seems to be made by dislexic drooling 13 year old idiots) pehaps not understanding what they say is for the best.
(I keep closed the general channel, the correspondant of our region channel, because of the absolute gibberish idiotic profanity going on there.)
see?
I am not saying only good of WoW I am actually impartial even if still angry at ryzom for the bad changes in the mobs damage.
