I know I shouldn't, but I just have to ask, why pick on me? At least two other posters did as much, and likely more to grate on his frustration, but they seem to have escaped your ire, why is that?

Ryzom is not an easy ride anymore, he doesnt like it, he leaves. Flaming the game just gives us reason to razz him.

well, i's a fact too that spells who are below the lvl of the mob have an exactly zero chance of working, like melee skills that only work upto certain qualities
and seeing how i was in a group yesterday that very successfully, blinded, stunned, crazed, and as needed feared our mobs i can only assume that your spells were perhaps near, but still below the mob lvl

That fact alone says the system is totally off kilter. you SHOULD be able to land a spell and get credit for even trying, yet higher Mobs should mean higher resist with a remote chance they can be caught off guard and full spell lands as well as full resists.

The Developers have chosen their own way of doing business in the MMORPG Genre and so far they have not been able to manage it well at all. This is a great game with a screwed up combat/spell engine and a DEV team that does not want to make a popular game in lieu of their own idea as to how to keep people for the long-term. (BTW DEV's, people do not leave just because they managed to get high levels.. they create new CHAR in other races and start over...well, those that stay anyway.)

Did you get a lot of xp leeches in FFXI? I had more trouble with people who were really incompetent. Like, really really bad at playing their job. Never had someone try to join a group and idle out... but hunting was definitely a challenge and I think most groups would have booted them ASAP. ^^

Today in resting waters, a bunch of us around level 80 to 100 were fighting stuff that was giving our full team 1k xp. I could not land a freaking spell on anything to save my life.

Stun: No.
Fear: No.
Blind: No.
Madness: No.
Nukes: No.

Nothing, not a god damn thing. I eventually gave up in frustration because the only way for me to gain any XP at all is by healing people and guess what.... I DO NOT WANT TO BE A HEALER.

All the melee fighters in my team were getting xp, the guy who was healing was getting xp... I was lucky to get XP 1 out of every 3 fights if I didn't heal.

I know there are the kissasses out there who are going to come up with a myriad amount of excuses about what I should be doing here and how I'm retarded because the game is just fine... sure whatever.

Just explain to me one thing: If everyone else in my team is getting XP, we are obviously fighting a monster we can beat. How come if we can beat the monster using level 40-100 melee and level 50 heals I cannot contribute at all with my level 80 offensive magic powers? Not even a tiny bit.

Do you have any idea how frustrating it is to see three monsters die in a row and to get >0< experience for it?

I gained 7 levels between my 2 afflictions trees yesterday fighting Q210 mobs using level 125/140 afflicitons. Your doing something wrong or your spells are very low level. I dont hit often, but it gets more and more frequent as I eek out a level.
