Much talk/information on harvesting changes, but does anyone know if theme music is still in patch 1?

If so, is it only played at start up of the client, or in game as well?
Different music in different lands?

Please read positive post above before flaming/trolling....

I have just be researching patch one.

@Lawrence - please find out about these.

I have read that....

- Dodge/parry is now almost non-existent in Patch 1
- No matter what stanza you use at high levels in harvest maxium pulls with maximum ql for level are almost impossible.
- Mobs in the areas around town (growing for example) can now kill an unprepared player with 1700 in under 1 min.
- The crafting tree for Amps is not working correctly
- Packers still die to AOE, and still can't be healed
- source modes change randomly after events....so skill can't prevent insta death

If we all die as soon as we leave town, unless grouped and ready for battle this will be a bit of a game killer.

Going for super easy harvesting - to prospect and die seems a bit over kill

Implementing broken skill tree that have been reported seems a little strange.

I would rather wait for a working patch than have to go through a patch - report - patch cycle.

I though the idea of the ATS was to make sure the patches worked and were tested.

At the moment I get the impression (which maybe wrong, hence the request here) that the attitude is 'its doesn't crash the server, so lets release it anyway!' The players won't mind they never did in the beta.

If it turns out that what I have read is 'wrong' and the patch is 'perfect' then well done to you.

There are so many sources that say the same that its hard to believe you read wrong.

And I doubt that the released patch will differ much from what we read here. Because why put it on the test server otherwise to test.

After doing a bit more research today I predict that this patch at this time will be a game killer.

Already half my guild (we are 50) says they are leaving if the patch gets released like this !!!

NEVRAX, THINK and STOP.

now why dont u all take a deep breath, not play ryzom today, go outside, smell clean fresh air, brush up on your gardening or whatever....
Come back on wednesday, check out the effects,if u like it, stay,if u dont, leave....
Stop making empty threats, because most players will likely stay and will lose credibility because they have been ranting on and on about how nevrax are twats and they will leave if patch 1 is implemented as it is.

/agreed

I'm one for seeing things for my own eyes before I believe the sky is falling to be perfectly honest. Things needed balancing out and it has been done.
If people quit because the game isn't on easy mode anymore then they probably wasn't going to stay for long anyways.

I specifically don't make empty threats, I am passionate about the game and very committed.

However its a great kick in the teeth to people like me that:

1. Defend this game and the company to friends, only to have them 'Possible' rush out and untested/tested but not fix patch.

2. Believed them when thay said, 'The patches in the beta were buggy because we rushed them to you, it won't be like in retail'

3. Provide a ATS server, where feed back appears to be ignored.

4. To potentually break more than they fix.

I personally think Harvesting is complete rubbish at them moment. Mode 1 makes death a think that only occurs because the player is not paying attention.

I harvest to get materials..... It the only reason I spend my time doing it.
I gather materials for the crafters, myself included, to make equipment.
So that others again mayself included can explore and hunt.

The way harvesting has been described by players, in patch 1, is that:

Its not possible to do a full pull.
Every extraction is a death waiting to happen.

Sorry but I have gone from ... excited to angry in the space of a day.

I would have accepted the changes to the harvest system ..... but what I really don't like is that bugs that have been identified, which will directly effect players are going to be knowingly introduced, when they don't need to be.

Having spent 3 hours testing Patch 1, excitement is not the word that I would use. Let me dispel a couple of myths though.

I didn't seem to have a problem with this. You get a nice flashy 'dodge' or 'parry' over your head if you succesfully accomplish one.
- No matter what stanza you use at high levels in harvest maxium pulls with maximum ql for level are almost impossible.
Read my post on gentle harvest. Its bad. And Packers are limited in bulk now, so you either use or lose your mats.
- Mobs in the areas around town (growing for example) can now kill an unprepared player with 1700 in under 1 min.
Not quite that bad. Damage looks doubled, but hps look halved. I do need to run a couple more compares and post.
- The crafting tree for Amps is not working correctly
As someone who is basically at 70 in most lines of crafting, I was stunned to note my CC craft line was black. Crafted 10 amps - at 6x the price they are now, as mats costs are way up - and no exp. Disaster coming on this one.
- Packers still die to AOE, and still can't be healed
True. And at least on ATS, the packers were with me when I logged in the wilderness for the first time, and are lying dead out there. Be warned when you log out tonight.
- source modes change randomly after events....so skill can't prevent insta death
True...an explosion or gas changes a mode, and even good modes will have explosions now under gentle, which is stupid. But...there are stanzas for explosions being lessened, and you can change a mode with a care plan. The harvest side of the patch isn't great, but I'm a lot more worried about other aspects.

Implementing broken skill tree that have been reported seems a little strange.

I would rather wait for a working patch than have to go through a patch - report - patch cycle.

Agreed on all counts, although I will say I'm looking forward to the respec. But...there's no reason to release this patch as is given how much appears broken. But Nevrax has shown stupidity and rigidity before in release dates and it appears they're doing it again. I just hope half of the customer base doesn't disappear as a result.

Unfortunately, I would get ready to share space with the NA server sooner rather than later.

Really, despite all the furor (and a couple of real idiots) the NA community is very well mannered. I know it is hard to picture a whole pack of pleasant Americans ... but you will be pleasantly surprised when Nevrax brings the servers together.

Wouldn't call it doom and gloom. But in the effort to fix quick leveling - at least thats what I think they're doing - they have broken any number of things that weren't before. And when the solution is worse than the problem, we are in trouble.
