Great. It nice to know your passing on our ideas. Thats one of the things I like about Ryzom, the forum admins actually read the forums and pass on ideas to the devs. And becasue they post on the forums (and in a timely manner) you know they are reading them.cerest wrote:I've spoken to the forum admins to see if this is possible, as I think it's a good idea too. They haven't gotten back to me yet. :/

This is still confusing, since level 61 I dropped the dapper to get a set of q80 heavy armor. I'm level 78ish now and that armor is at about half life for hps.
Most of my levels since 61 were gained while helping my roommate switch to defensive mage. He was level 10 when we started and is now around 40. His gear is q30 and has taken significantly more damage that mine has.
This would make sense if it was not based on the groups combined gear to mob level ratio, but on the personal gear to mob level ratio.
We have been killing mobs that are 1-2k exp for this whole time. At this point we are killing mobs that drop mats from 77 - 99 QL. I don't know if that really implies the mobs levels though because it seems I can kill a mob that drops QL80 mats and get less exp than another mob that drops QL77 mats.
I joined a high level exp team. We were killing level 100+ mobs and my sword was losing at least 1hp per kill, I was level 40 at the time and the sword was QL70. I stripped to nothing after I saw what was happening to my QL60 armor, I lost about 30 hp on each piece in a really short time. I recall the main melee was 90ish and wearing equivalent gear. He never took the armor off, dunno if that means his gear wasn't decaying as bad, or he was just too rich for his own good.
The only time I've notice hyperspeed decay is when I am fighting mobs at least 50+ levels higher than me.

That seems to be the results I get. When I fight mobs vastly above my level, my stuff decays quickly. This would be an insentive to me, not to go after the uber mobs (the typical powerleveling technique used in otehr games).dgnrit wrote:This is still confusing, since level 61 I dropped the dapper to get a set of q80 heavy armor. Re: When will Hyperspeed decay rats be fixed ?
Well for myself. When I have been fighting appropriate lvl'ed creatures and in groups with around the same lvl as myself the decay rate hasn't been nearly as bad as people have been talking about experiencing.
Now when I am grouped with my guild buddies and we're looking for monsters where even the highest lvl gets good xp I notice my equipment will practically melt.
I could be mistaken, and am definitely not bashing folks when i say this, but i feel maybe the problem is people trying to fight lvls much higher than their own in groups with higher lvl folks. This is the only time I can say i've experienced decay in anything as drastic as what people are complaining about.
Unlike other games people in this one seem to not care too much about someone'e level as long as the task at hand can be accomplished. But maybe that's just my limited view on it. I've been in groups where we'll have folks around mid 20's with the highest lvl folks at 80 something. That's a big difference.
The only time I came even close to breaking a weapon is when i was fighting lvl 125 or so creatures with a group and I was only mid 60's to low 70's. The hp dropped off that sword as if the mats decided they didn't want to be a sword anymore. Still got 5 lvls or so out of it. First weapon i've replaced with the same quality so far.
So am interested to know if this is REALLY an issue or if it's an issue because people are lucking out into fighting things otherwise WAY out of their league.

Re: When will Hyperspeed decay rats be fixed ?
Hi Its not because the mobs are way our of the groups levels. We tend to hunt in groups of 9 with guildies and kill the monsters in 2 spell attacks or less, so we kill the monsters in less then 8 secounds on average. Everyone is 150 -180 in level and we receive aroud 2 k exp per monster. This is supposed to be a game games should be fun, I know whats fun is differant for all peoplle to som extent but being forced to dig for 24 hours days to play one night is killing the fun factor. This is how bad it is to me ID rather pay 2 times the ammount of the game subscription to have fun and hunt and explorer all of my game time. With the current Rot Decay Rats its kinda a game killer. I have such high hope for patch one but with the big guns out so soon I have to wonder how long this world wil exist. with so few servers etc. ITs sad to me cause this is the verry best csr team i have even seen in any online game ever, and I have played most all of them since the beginning.mockmaw wrote:Well for myself. Cerest, thank you for letting us know that this is being looked into!!!

I won't even try to justify the harvesting issues. It sounded like a pain before the changes so I steered clear of em.ariaki wrote:Hi Its not because the mobs are way our of the groups levels. As far as the armor and weapon decay rate. Thanks for the info. Maybe I have been lucky. But unless taking the bigger mobs i just never noticed it enough to be problematic. I've heard lots of discussion on it just never had it apply to me.
