I was not speaking abou security. That's something that need a lot of work.
I only said that, considering only the need of an SSL encryption, would be pretty easy to buy a certificate or, if you don't want to buy it, just generate and use it. You only need apache, openssl and a little time to do that.
Nothing that could be considered secure in a general sense, but at least we could get the SSL encryption working instead of the actual extrernal access to the web-apps.

Heh, lurker as I am, I never noticed the other forum before this thread. (Although I vaguely remember a patch note about it...)

Like others posted before, a merge would be wise...
