Meh, I wish the first run of the event didn't have such ridiculous amount of OOC crap spoiling it. Why do people who clearly don't enjoy these events freaking insist on coming to them... >.<

At least the later run was okay. Can't wait for election campaigns to begin! :D

Quite ageed. The CSRs should mute anyone who generates too much OOC drivel.

or have a temporary event channel which could be open/closed to player chatting as the csr's see fit. having to warn/mute people for ooc could be quite a chore if there were alot of offenders.

A local In Character or event channel ? why not. Would tune down all the yelling. :p And OOC people could easily get muted from there. Because it DOES get annoying and it DOES ruin part of the efforts of the team to bring us quality Lore based events.

+1 to kiamh! An event channel would be an excellent resolution to things.

Maybe someone should throw it up on the feedback site?

Peace,

I just want a chat system like the one in Istaria, it would solve this problem and so many others. Please :D

FRAK YES. That would be the best.

For those who don't know what we're referring to:
- Anyone can create a custom channel.
- A channel administrator (initially the channel's creator) can invite/kick participants and promote others to admin.
- Such a channel can have its own tab and/or integrate into User.
- You can set what colour a channel's text displays in on your client just like any other.
- You can join any number of channels.
- In Istaria, a channel only exists as long as someone is in it. When the last participant logs out it poofs; when they log back in the channel is recreated by its presence in a client-side interface config file. This makes administrative status a temporary matter, but it reduces the server resources required by the feature. Ryzom has better servers than Istaria, so I suppose this aspect could go either way at the developers' discretion.

There already is an existing feedback thingy about custom channels that needs more love. Maybe just slightly expand it through comments?
I naively hope this is what the devs are working on along with the new font silliness and smileys icons (uh...) that they showed us on the blog earlier today. =P
