I really hate reading forums. Why I do I have no idea but I do.
In another game I play I see players saying the very same thing as here.
The devs don't say anything. or why was game down for so long, Bring back up now don't fix it I just want to play.
I think gamers are the most impatient people there are. So I don't think here is any different than any other game except someone did say AO, tho I did play it I didn't read the forum.
But yes there is no communication, yes we all want to know what is going to happen, what is planned. The major thing I see is as in the other game. When something is said, we plan to do this or that, you will be able to do this.
If it is not patched into game the next hour the forums are a buzz with angry players. But you said you were going to do this and that. So maybe they think they should not say anything.
Yes I am not wild about the different places to look. I did just like the way it was but things change. It takes time to get use to it and if people try and not rebell against it maybe it will work out in the long run.
If the feed back is where they want suggestions maybe that is where it should go.
I do agree when people are giving their opinions, closing a thread of it was not the best thing to do.
Just a question ...
Re: Just a question ...
Well, I just wanted to share my feelings and ask a question when starting this thread (which I did very reluctantly; I think I never started a thread here, apart from my RP chronicles on the German forums years ago). It's somehow highjacked for all sorts of emotions now *g*. Well, fine with me.
I just recognised how exiled the role-players now are today, by looking up the (German) RP forums and finding out that something was added a few days ago - which passed me by. Was not an event I missed, just a political posting, but still - seeing that the fear grew that non-roleplayers will find out by pure coincidence if something non-technical happens in the game (apart from invasions and stuff, which makes itself quite obvious), and probably roleplayers will - just for that - seen even more as a hindrance than they often did in the past. In turn, roleplayers will have to live with the fact that things like, say, a wedding or a mass will be visited by less non-roleplayers (potential not-yet-roleplayers) who might get curious by official announcements as well as player announcements for some smaller RP events ingame. It needs an incredible amount of optimism to think that all non-roleplayers will sign up at the RP site and watch it on a regular base to stay informed. It rather seems to be even annoying even for roleplayers to do so at the moment.
