Why?

With a single package supply you can decrease about 0,4%.
So, to decrease 20% you just need 50 packages...

It's not more hard than construction phase.
And, yes, events with cooperative fight can decrease faster the number of kitins.

So anyone can explain to me what need to be done to fight off the kitins?

I have NO clue!
  • The ingame information for the Lakelands don't match the numbers on the Current Status page
  • The missions are not transparent what shall be done
  • There are no events that explain what is going on and what needs to be done
  • Low levels are frustrated and stay offline

Can you please explain how delivering 'dirty laundry' to the camps fights off kitins, and killing them does not? Maybe this is all to esoteric for me.

It's easy (but need to test and need to know :p )

2 steps :

1 - Digg to gather the supplies. (like construction but with new materials , food materials to be exact).
2 - Supply camps with light packages (you can deliver without a mektoub if you want)

For each package a % of kitins decrease.
I suppose that help guards at camp to fight kitins and protect the zones.
It's like fire, you can put water on it, but if you don't attack the source... your work is useless.
Guards seems to fight the source of kitin invasion (you can find 1000 reasons to think that logical, and 1000 reasons to think that illogical, it's a game...)

So, the first camp need low level quality materials (Q10) and can be found on zone 50. When camp is correctly supplied, kitins will decrease and zone 100 will be safe.

With zone 100 safe, foragers can easily found the new mps and transport package to camp 150.

It's general FORAGE and TRANSPORT steps.
With events that provide FIGHTS steps.

So, everybody can participate.

So you tell us there are new digging missions now?

That is a very value able information I didn't had until now, and to be honest I didn't bothered to check them since the towers in the Arispotle Lakelands were completed already, and I thought the missions were to restock more building materials for future use.

I now know that there were events on Aniro and Leanon that explained what needs to be done next. This event didn't took place on Arispotle as far as I know. If there would have been at least a posting on the atys-forums, maybe some of us would have partially understood the intention, so we had started to investigate the 'new' missions.

You can found the new forage missions at same NPC on special camp in zone 50.

Some players like to be assisted and obtain a very precise TODO list. Others (like me) want discover what can be do, where, and see the impact of actions.

I just have talk to NPC, take the missions, listen the observers, deliver the package and look the change on web site.

The event on Aniro wasn't about giving explanations.
The players have found those explanations by themselves since the beginning of the second phase just by listening to the NPC

Because the team annouced that event will have a major impact on the kitin invasion. I don't remember if that was in the MOTD or in the special event channel, but it was annouced.

Every time I supplied campments it decreased about 0%. I personaly supplied the Falls of the Two Totems (4) 2 times, and it's still at 99.23%. If you are right, I should be the only one to supply this campment...

dnycran wrote:The question is who's being arrogant, though. See, for me the kitins are merely a minor annoyance. I'll hit speed+mpa to run past them, and do my digging. There are some safe/semi-safe places left, so that's no issue. If I do get aggro while digging, I can still run, and even in case they kill me, so what. Digging yields no xp anyway, and DP is gone in 10 mins. Lastly, if Loria really gets too annoying, I'll just dig in Wastelands.
Now it looks a LOT different if you only have speed-2 and mpa-2 (or maybe not even those) and 1200-1500 HP, and if you're trying to get your non-master dig skill up. Maybe you don't have 60 fame to buy PR teleports either. Now in that case, you're screwed, as you will die every time and you'll spend your day digging off DP which is neither fun nor immersive, no matter how often you are told "you know, life on Atys is tough". The net result for you is that you're getting nowhere while the veteran players have all the fun.
Dying for doing something stupid is something most people will live with and accept. Dying (several times) because you're being "punished" even though you didn't do anything wrong is something that doesn't go down nearly as good. Not getting anywhere is a killer.
On my melee 250 main, I die to a single kipucka group in Maiden Grove.
On my melee 75 and 100-something alts, I die to a single kipucka group in Maiden Grove.
On any character I can do whatever the hell I want simply by sneaking, adapting, and not believing that the instant something is difficult it must be time to cry to the developers asking for it to be made easier.
Guess which characters I've played more during this event? The low-level ones. Barely touched my main.

That's quite an egregious assumption. Sure, every community can initiate a player event, but they've absolutely zero control over whether the event team will jump in. I can't say about our current event team, but in the past we've certainly seen Aniro to have a much larger event team able to jump onto player events, where Arispotle's event team simply wasn't able to.
