I agree with this. I am certainly going to resub. I have not found any game that I care about more than Ryzom. All those games I played plus more other games. All left me wanting Ryzom. The only game I fear that filled the void left by Ryzom was LOTRO. But even then Ryzom is my life and has been since beta.

When you think of how old this game is and it is still awesome. It just amazes me.

I will most certainly resub.

Even LOTRO did not make me feel the way Ryzom does, even LOTRO limits your freedom, all be it less than some others (especially as a captain you retain some freedom, hehe)

... but it's BEEN free for the past 6 months! Basically what you're suggesting is that it be free for one MORE month.

I'm not sure if they could afford to do that, but I do see the advantage in that it would give all the players joining this month a large, higher level supporting community. Some of them might only be there to hand off Atys to the next generation of players, so to speak, but that's fine. It MAY be a better transition to prolong the free use for old players, but we've had 6 months of it, and new players have been able to join us on the mainland, so perhaps it's been long enough.

While it is in a slightly different context, it's not that different. We KNEW they were bringing back the game, so the uncertain future wasn't the same as the one when Ryzom was still for sale for the 2nd time. I think the only tangible difference is that they've done patches, updated Silan, and put back Kitin Patrols. We're not sure they're capable of growing much faster than that. (Ok, most of us probably don't really understand how much work is involved to really gauge the progress they've done with what they can do.)

... Say hello to the new boss. Same as the old boss. A new title and marketing push isn't really going to fool anyone who left because of the way the game is.
New titles are for expansion packs.

Unfortunately, nearly all these ideas discriminate harshly against certain play-styles -- the hardcore grinders will regain levels, fame, and whatever else in days (at most, weeks) while casual players will find their hard-earned rewards vanished, perhaps for good. It's almost certain this latter group will leave the game in such a situation.

Outpost and respawn points would provide only a (very) temporary shake-up on the server. There'd be the initial scramble over a few days with battles and treks, but then we'd be back to bored by the end of the week. There are already some great ideas to elicit similar activity over a long period of time, i.e. the trekking of mektoub caravans and regular outpost assaults by Marauders. (There are threads out there explaining these, but I don't feel like finding them and I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about anyway. )

Ill be subscribing two accounts as well. Really happy about the progress, old content, same content, new content. Its all the same to me. Just keep up the activity and spend the money wisely. Thank you.

I gladly pay to play, and if it's just to to keep the game alive; That is what matters most to me.

After SOE killed SWG this became my home, I tend to venture into other games as well but I always return my focus here.
I admit SoR has a few flaws (depending on your PoV maybe more than just a few), but the pro's outweight em very easily.
