Wasn't the whole point of this thread that player numbers are decreasing the longer nothing happens? The car *is* (slowly) rolling towards the cliff.kay22626 wrote:The billing is not up, the game is only there as a test, or a courtesy, its not officially open, so the car is NOT moving.
Quite true, that's probably an even more appropriate analogy. Hence why I assumed rolling slowly, thus giving the people plenty of time to discuss things and the driver to explain *this* is how he's going to steer, and no more argument. All SW has done though is, indeed, motioned to acknowledge that they heard us the first time. We'd like a little more info on how they intend to steer, and see them actually moving the wheel, before feeling safe in their hands.kay22626 wrote:Oh and one more thing: imagine a car heading towards a cliff and a bunch of people behind the driver, all of them yelling in his ear their own version of how he should steer to avoid the cliff. Im afraid if the driver doesnt have good earplugs they are all doomed
They've given us some info, yes. We know roughly what the event team is doing and planning, and what the devs are doing and planning. But we still know nothing about their plans for the relaunch or for marketing.
Anyways, my point wasn't to discuss whether or not SW has given us enough reason to trust them to know what they're doing; that's personal opinion. I was merely hoping to provide some insight into why we say the same things over and over, and that's it's not because we feel wronged by SW.
Maybe, probably not, but it's worth a shot. Staying quiet will surely never change anything.kay22626 wrote:Yeah, and complaining endlessly about "flaws we see" will sure prevent it.... Endless complaining will help SW fix the flaws, will also help the community, help bringing new players in and keep them in.
Im sure there are better ways to "help prevent this" than complaining endlessly....
There are indeed much better ways to help prevent this: Volunteering for CSR duty, organising events, advertising Ryzom wherever you can, are just a few things that almost anybody can do. A number of players are indeed already doing these things. The thing is that that takes a lot of time, which not everybody has, and giving advice is one thing that takes so little time everybody can do it on the side.
Oooh, nice analogy.acridiel wrote:Ryzom´s a small green sapling growing inside a jungle, under the canopy of a huge forest giant, that keeps getting bigger and bigger. Taking the sunlight from all others around it. And unless this giant won´t fall, others will have to struggle to stay alive in its shadow. By specializing and occupying niches in this ecosystem.
