There is a way to make a constant scenario that will count up # kills of certain mobs and once # kills are made, something else happens with another # kills. eventually an exterminator spawns.

say 10,000 points required, lv 50 kitin = 1 point, lv 100 kitin = 2 ect

100+ kittins in the scenario at the same time, respawns are circa 1min, so no real problem unless you can kill 200 kitins in less than 50s ;)

Use of the Universal chat channel from inside the ring is doable so calling backup homins when it spawns is easy

allow the scenario to run 24/7 for a week untill completed.. (provided it doesent crash xD)

death of the final kitin boss resulting in a "pass word" which yields a prize to the combatants that take it down..

even a scenario for each land (and limit those able to join by race :D ), tho hosting 4 seperate scenarios at the same time would need 4 acounts.

i will make this if enough ppl would be interested...

(if the Project Hope works, prize could be creamed of the top fom that, say 5% of donations stored for use as the prizes + dapper donations? of course with the consent of the community :) )

I think it time for less talk and more action. :)

Edit: with reards to prizes, id say add stage bosses that also yield pass words. each one of the "mini" boses having a smaller prize, these bosses come at random ofc

i guess with pass words being displayed on screen via broadcast in the scenario a simple screen shot including, you the homin + the dead mob + the broadcast message would be enough to claim a "share" for that particular boss.
i have an alt you can use to host the scenario on.

Edit: if you have something we can use right now, i will start hosting it today.

I wonder how many guilds use the Ring scenario creator for events,

Such as practicing Battle tactics before an OP battle,
Creating A 'rite of entry' for potential members,
General Guild social meetings,
Geez, A guild can even 'own' their own unique piece of Atys.....keep your apartments, I have A district :D

It's a powerful tool allowing the player to create their own 'instances'.

Even I have forgotten how much fun I had making scenarios.

edit - sorry for the short and curt responses to your questions earlier Viper579, Work was very tense and distracting.

The kitin week invasion Lilijania speaks of was be far the best time I had in Ryzom. Since our lvls are far higher now BB prolly would be to low for the event.(back then 190 was uber).Loria might be a better place. It had elements for all. Diiging mats with guards in the war zone.Crafters taking those mats to craft armor and weps. Warriors protecting the ppl as we delivered them to the frontlines. Finally watching your squads form and march out to fight the kitin.Guard towers going live with NPCs. Eventually winning the fight. The fact we had a week of it was fantastic all could be involved. It took everyone to pull it off. It was the Atysian community showed how great it is.I always hoped we could one day do something similar-Kil

man that sounds so awesome!

i wonder, could we just outright pay whoever manages the events on the server to make a kitin invsasion. i mean 400 dollars isnt much divided by 40 players. im sure we could get 40 people to give 10 dollars. ill ask a csr in game.

Actually every element of that is doable in the ring. including "digging". (just not actual digging.) ive seen a mechaic made by Kaetemi that did this, though i dont think he ever finished it completly.

very doable just a matter of time to put it together.

Edit: wouldnt be as good as actually being IG though

The Ring is almost perfect, even with some of the limitations, to be honest all it takes is dedication and elbow grease. None of us really have an excuse for not using the Ring.
Hosting IS a problem though. None of us can be expected to log in just to host a scenario. But there has got to be some middle ground. We can figure this out, but it would be nice if we didn't have to, if you could just make a scenario and load it and not worry that when you went to work no one could explore it.
Ugh...RING! Why do you torment me SO?
But in the meanwhile, any event that pits US against IT or THEM..meaning non-homins or NPC's...those events show us what I think we can forget all the time..that we're all in this together!

Event I would like/love to see (or see again) :)

Full player base, no faction nothing....: could be guild contests (mixed guild teams allowed to make sure everybody is in team)

1- Raid on kitins liars:
- Tunnel of Woe: kinda easy but always a fun mess
- Deserstock: Rawr ... Kinjd of "plant the flag of top of the mountain" event but no running: kill, kill, kill, progress 5 meters, kill, kill kill ....
- Umbra Liar (for dessert) :)

2- "Caterpillar" event race/run in Wastelands (with or without mektoubs)...
By teams again, rampaging all regions of wastelands with checkpoints :)

All of those I like to name "Caterpillars" event as the idea is to have lots of teams killing everything on their path: the homin army in march (SP?) can not be stopped :)

And for a while having maybe 100 ppl shouting in region: aggro, res, add.... would surely be lot of fun :)

3- Lixie, Pei, Aen, Sergio all on same day with full player base: not only high lvls :)

After the last outpost war, our guild went on a picnic. We packed up firewine and magnificent large berry punch, some ale, some toasted cratcha seeds, a "secret family recipe" of Southern Fried Yber, roast bodoc sandwiches with savory garnishes... and we walked to Virginia Falls to enjoy the day.

Not every event must be of epic size, to provide a different perspective, and a change of pace for those taking part. The little things make a difference too.
