I arrived to the mainland today too, and I have a similar story.
I started in Zora, and was a bit confused. It's a huge town, and all NPC names sound like each other. I asked a bit around in the chat, and someone offered to trek me to Fyros (the capital of that area, can't remember the name).
He then gave me 120k dappers to spend on teleporters, explained a few things, then we left.
I loved it, the monster designers surely have a lot of fantasy, the creatures are so weird, I love it. Areas are beautiful too.
During the trek, my guide explained me all kind of things about the game, about outposts, crafting, etc.
And just the same as the topic opener, I got all his help in a few seconds when I asked in the chat. Great community for sure.
