Yes games have kill x mob, but you know there is a storyline behind it.
To me releasing a game out with 0 quests to do is a bad start for any mmorpg.
People dont wait for things anymore, if you go to a mall to buy a dvd and that particular store does not have it, you dont "wait" ntil they get more, you move to the next store ntil you find it.
Im not trashing the game, but I already seen many people leave the game and is not even a month old. The guild I started had 30+ members they all left except for maybe 3-4.
With titles such as WoW, EQ2, Guildwars, Matrix Online ect do you think people are going to sit and wait because "things are coming?" No way.
So if people dont start as costumers demanding stuff, this game will become Horizons 2 soon enough.
If you're not happy, then leave. Leave the boards too. Say your piece to the devs about what they need to do _and_just_leave_. Lingering on, pissing and moaning, accomplishes one thing for sure. It makes you look like a whiner. I don't know that I'll stick with the game once my EQ2 preorder gets to me, but for now it's a game. I enjoy trying new games. If I play it a month, I figure I got my fifty dollars' worth.

I havent been counting the number of threads that have started and ended about what could be better. Not even going to try. I left the game for about a weekend due to the rubberbanding. Sorry but I didnt think "I" should play until that was resolved.
Nevrax came thru in a blaze of dev devotion and that was quickly resolved. Yes there are things that can be fixed ... yes there are people who still have problems playing for a number or reasons. Router, Video Card, Drivers, etc.
It is amazing to me that it 'appears' that everyone would rather post about what doesnt work and what they want to make it work than to just allow the game developers time to correct, edit or overhaul what is not working correctly. I do understand there was a beta and yes it is to make sure the game works. The problem I see if I were to take a large sampling of the threads here is that most people would rather post complaints without constructive criticism.
Well to take action to words ...
I have read the wishlist and there is nothing on it that I desire to add. I would like to strike most of it and let the devs work for 6 months to see the fruit of their labor before I rage that it isnt enough.
I have filled out numerous in game bug reports about things I did not find listed in a complaint or thread here on the boards. I have 'ALWAYS' recieved acknowledgement of that and even seen it taken to the MOTD message to let everyone else know they were looking into it.
I have posted my system specs in other threads. It is hard enough to code a game in 3 languages not to mention it to be played on over 100,000 different configuration of machines. Every computer is different just as every person is different and every character in this game will be different.
If you havent tried everything the game has to offer than you have truly not played it. If you dont like it ... I am sorry to hear that. I do enjoy it as do others.
It is my 'opinion' that this game is very equivalant to reading a book ... WTF?? yeah that is right ... you can open the book and read it and then read it again and still never fully comprehend the depth of it OR you can open it ... get impatient and skip to the end and then complain that it was dumb.
Personally I'll spend my time playing this game and then when I think I have done it all ... I'll looke at it from a different perspective and I'm sure I will find it quite refreshing. And that is without the addition of any new content.
That is my ramble on this. I hope you will give it a shot in a month or so but if not ... sorry this wasnt your game and I hope you find the one you are looking for.

Thats you, I can call you a fanboi that will buy a used underwear if it has the ryzom logo on it. You demand stuff because you want the game to be great and to grow and survive.
We all agre that SWG is broken right? Well go to the forums and you will find lots of peoples screaming for everyone to leave and let them play since they believe is such a wonderfull game.
Welll my friend you fall into that category.

I am willing to be patient with games, I like seeing new things in the game, but when I find myself needing the next patch to stay in a game then I leave.
Currently I'm having a blast figuring out the system and its ups and downs. I don't need patch 1 & 2 to keep me busy and I suspect that I will still be busy when they come around. And that I will eventually use the content but not need it the day it comes out.
My only beef is that if you are going to do such significant additions to content so quickly then provide more than one month of play time before the subscription starts. One month subscription doesn't mean a lot to me, however many players make their determination before they have to pay subscription fees. It would be a real benefit I feel if they saw the game improve before they had to make that decision.
My 2 cents,
Ryphan
