I think I should login to my Silan char on Cho, just to make them transfer it.
And I think for the future you will have exactly the same rights :/

Soooooo will the players that were on Cho be given the option to transfer back to this new server? I think that it's a bit unfair, to the players of Cho, to wipe their server to just restart it again a few weeks later under a new name. If they are gonna take the server down because numbers are low then leave it down! There will be a lot of bitter feelings and resentment, I'd feel that way and I don't play on Cho, if the server is brought back up. I'd also wager they are gonna loose a good percentage of the Cho players too, because I for one would feel betrayed. These are just my thoughts on the matter!

As ever it's not very clear what they're intentions are...
You could take it many ways, this 'new' shard might be overflow for one of the other communitys that actually is doing well. Or it might be to support a new language entirely.

I really don't understand the idea of opening up later: "Cho will be reborn a few weeks later under another name to welcome a new community." A new community of what? We get displaced, lose our outposts, wander around ari like nomads and then what happens? New players get to start on cho - apparently that's not happening now hence the server merger - something is not making sense here. One unhappy choian here....

I know how it feels to lose your home. I was apart of the original Windermeer/Arispotle merger. That merger was necessary, honestly less so than the Cho/Arispotle merger. I was upset when I lost my 'home' but that didn't mean the end of the world. I made lots of new friends with the merger, and got to learn so much more about places other than the US

. While you may be upset now, try to think of all the more positive things that will be gained with the merger.
And I think it will be nice to see a lot of the peoples I made friends with on Siobhan

I understand that there are many different ways to take this, but it still is unfair, to the players of Cho, no matter how you look at it.

They really need to let the players know what's going on, in this instance especially!

I don't disagree.
Lack of info for the players on important changes is nothing new to me though I'm afraid so I don't count my chickens anymore. We can only hope for an update tomorrow. No doubt they're all off sipping wine and feeling pleased with themselves by now, thinking the wheel of boredom will make up for it.
What a bittersweet pill we've been fed today.

I'm sorry to tell you this under these circumstances but please wait until tomorrow, we will post an announcement about the new shard with more info. Cho players as well as anyone else will be able to play on the new shard and perhaps even transfer characters there as long as you can speak the language of that shard, which will be a new one in the history of Ryzom.
