Er..... You mean This thread ??

Am i the only one who read that and thought "so what?".. That thread provides speculation and nothing more. It's like me going "BIG EVENT, no details, no time. but ill leave you with some speculation"

maybe im a bit skeptical, but i see it as GF using it as a 'get out of jail free' card for when poeple say that theres no events.

GF will turn around (Like Ty did) and say Check this out :D

*sigh*

The only patch you did was for you, to make your job easier and not for players.

tydamus wrote:As for content, a month or so ago Phelan was nice enough to give us all a good run through of the new plans Gameforge wanted to bring into Ryzom. However, the inconvenience of new owners means needing time for (re)evaluation of plans in development, transition, and so forth. Now that the majority of this phase is past, Marjo has been keeping the player base abreast on the current workings of the developers.
i hear that kind of things since i play ryzom.
I didnt care at start cause i had tons of things to do in this game. But now, after 2 years of plaing, i bored of that reasoning.
Nevrax used to lie a lot about the game development and it seems GF takes the same way of communication.
GF bought nevrax/ryzom almost 5 month ago. 5 month arent enough "for (re)evaluation of plans in development, transition, and so forth" ?? 5 month arent enough to elaborate a roadmap ?? Stop teasing us.
Most of MMO get new content several time in a year, we get promises several time in a year. We didnt get anything new since the OP patch more than 1 year ago, as the ring wasnt really new content.
Last point is the incoming changes ARENT new content, they are things we should already have since the release. there is definately NO new content in the next few month.

Well there might not be alot of new content in the pipework but at least they're doing something.

Better to have a little of something than alot of nothing.

hi.
I can understand your feelings. The projects we are working on are still the ones I stated in IRC. Things are moving slower than we wished, but the small client is online now. This may not concern old players at all, but for Ryzom it is a huge step.
We need to earn money to spend it, the small client will be followed by a marketing campaign and hopefully fill our war chest.
I would love to hire around 20 CSRs fulltime, some eventguys, and a couple of dozen new developpers. However, Ryzom is in no way capable to support that kind of investment. It will be in some time, but there are changes to be made first.

I assume by investment you mean monetry (I.E paying for CSR's) ???

becuase having 20 part time volenteers who work 5 hours each a week is surely better than trying to pay for one CSR who works 100 hours a week?! *confused*

Like i said, you've sidelined a whiole bunch of people who still play (and, afaik a few of them) who would volenteer... I dont see the logic in that.

Events dont always have to be mass invasions, they just have to help develop the story a tiny bit more, or start their own mini story (I.E Dias etc) Other than NPC bosses there's little else for 'endgamers' to do but grind, small events like that would help. no??

Perhaps, for the moment, until all of this is decided, outpost battles should be disabled. When this "bug" has been "fixed", then re-enable outpost battles.

We wouldn't want anyone to *cough* accidentally *cough* trigger this bug again before it gets fixed.
