I ask all to keep this post constructive and forget all flaming from here, there are many threads all ready for that it seems.

If GF has been moving people to Aris then Cho is already being gutted in preparation for a server merge. I don't see any way to create a culture on Cho as the players are being siphoned off. It doesn't take much looking at the forums to take the lesson that what passes for culture on Aris is mostly the yapping of arm-chair warrior-wannabes locked in the fallout from the sorry attempt at social engineering that just is the history of Nevrax game mechanic choices.
If that proves as true as the appearance then it will be nothing I want anything to do with. But I am not likely to quit, I am going to put my head down and play on the friendly and supportive world of Atys on Cho, when they tell me I have to move or lose my character I will move, but probably not until then. At some point after the merge my cats will run out and if I haven't found a group of sane people who (for game mechanics purposes only) are Kami, only then will I probably get too frustrated to play. In the mean time, I am having fun, even if it is starting to feel like a single player game with a built in chat client.
(*whew* Avatar finally in place. Steel plate, all either self-made or highly modified, used for fighting all-out with steel swords and warhammers. No PvP is remotely close to the real thing.)

P.S. upon reflection, I realize that my 30 Fount Karavan tps running out (regardless of server) is more likely to leave me too frustrated to play than my cats running out.

As a new player in Cho, I've never come across anyone that wasn't helpful. Though I must admit there are fewer players than I imagined so I don't come across many.
So what could we or GF do to make Cho more attractive to players?
We as a community can talk up Cho as the place to get a new start away from the tiresome flame wars and even more tiresome personalites on other worlds. We're already doing that.
Should we also try to appeal to specific groups - say PvP'rs by staging more OP battles? "Blood flows freely on Cho" Then again, maybe not. Should we appeal to PvE'rs by having no OP battles & handing out cats to all comers? Appeal to Kamists or Karavan or neutrals? I don't think we'll get agreement on anything along these lines by existing Cho players and the game mechanics are what the are no matter what we might wish.
Could we convince GF to up the XP on the mainland or give every new player 10 free levels of their choice once they transfer from Silan? Perhaps there could be 2x XP days (4x with cats) once in awhile. Perhaps they could do the power-hour thing where the 1st hour of play in a 24 or 72 hour period is 2x XP. Could we convince GF to hand out a free month after 6 months of play if a player ONLY has characters on the Cho mainland? GF could use any of those to market the game as well.

Im sad to say this, but it frequently crosses my mind to get me a transfer myself
Im hoping saturday makes some changes in that cuz i cant deny that it is getting boring to get the feeling to be the only one online on this server... i never had this feeling till last week..... server just feels deserted. And im blaiming the transfering of toons for that, not the ones who transferd.

i know that there is real new players there, but those who helped to jumpstart Cho (waving "fresh start" flag), were mostly old players.
outposts would be a problem, but because Arispotle _has been_ figting for them longer, we get to keep them. if there really is that low lvl population on Cho, then if it goes to unsubscribing, best that ppl from Cho do it and not Arispotle (harsh i know).

My honest thoughts on cho are yes the population is much smaller, everyone is good fun, helpful and there is no resentment or arguing between faction or alliances, its what aris should be like. Why close it down or merge it when for many people its a better place than aris....
I honestly hope they dont merge the servers, it would be great to see a cho general forums just so we could compare them to aris's, my bet is any new commer reading the forums would sure as hell not join aris....

For me its the qulity of the players, not the quantity
Have to experience Aris a little more to get the real feel of it though

Mokdarion is as Karavan as they come and has a PvP flag. For various reasons I have never hunted with him and for reasons I cannot remember at all he used to annoy me (hi Mok *grin*, wish I could tell you why but I can't remember :) . but whether it is on Cho or Aris I am never going to attack him for any reason, full stop. If it were an OP battle and he came up on spacebar I just wouldn't cast.
Nitrous, Kami, used to really annoy me for being a uchat hall monitor ( Hi Nitro! :) and really ticked me off over the candy-cane duel incident. But again, whether it is on Cho or Aris I am never going to attack him for any reason*. And this morning if I had had the fame and the time I would have been CPing for him in an instant in the PR.
I could keep going, the list of people I am not going to kill is long it even includes Wezzy and not because he has the best fashion sense (and most patterns) of anyone on Cho or even because I couldn't (unless Anikin was my proxy :)
But it's not like I am not an aggressive person, smack down *could* be part of who I am on Atys, but it's not and I am still here because I am a product of my environment, an environment that is hazardous enough that we have to stick together. Cho Homins are all just a step or two from huge dps and hours of wasted effort, we are alone in a dangerous world, we know it and we find a way to get along. It looks to me like on Aris, with all those players, you have effectively conquered your environment enough to fall into the decadence of squabbling.
For your sake I hope they crank up your spawns until you actually need each other again, on Cho we very much still do and did even during the halcyon days of February. Now that so many have fled to Aris and other games you can hear a pin drop most nights CST (only three of EoAs HOs are on regularly and almost never more than one at a time, there are only a couple of us rank and file on at any one time).
Now it's true that Duran might kill Mok and Nitrous might kill Emptyish and Wezzy might kill anybody :) but I am positive there isn't one of them that wouldn't answer a rez call or not ask for one out of pride. Okay so I can think of a few Homins that would let me rot, but I inspire that in people (and I am SO going to rez them the first chance I get, there is moral high ground ripe for the taking here and smug is so much sweeter than revenged).
Wait, I am sure there was a point to this *ruffles though his papers* well, here's one that will do. If Cho survives, which I don't see as likely, it will a great place to be because each of us are needed and we need other players. If that is not the feeling on Aris then I say it is because you are too comfortable, it's too easy to get a team, a rez, some help. The lesson of Cho is that Atys only succeeds in making Homins huddle together against the night when the environment is far more hostile than it is on a full server. Let those same Homins get comfortable and watch them go at each other's throats.

P.S. I *really* hate ...[EDIT] Yay me! and it wasn't lazy, it was ignernt. I looked, but hadn't found it. Thanks blahh, knowing it is there to find is half the battle :) [/EDIT]
==================================
*Anikin would, but not if it wasn't all in fun, and not if he couldn't rez Nitrous right afterward.
