Reading this post makes all doubts I had about "was it a good thing for me to leave Ryzom" fade away... I m very sad for my former game fellows. their game is/has changing/changed too much...
As for those who STILL say "c'mon give em some time" I say "c'mon they had 2 and a half month and they still haven't released anything... not even the Kitin lair. my bad actually they did released something... our great CSR team...
Have fun guys.
Good luck for the future, I Hope you make it through.

Well they aren't
working on the kitin lair and I much prefer that they think what changes they want through before starting to work on them. All of those look complicated enough to implement that along with the time it would have taken reorganising after taking over Nevrex that I'm not unhappy at the pace of development. Just my opinion on that though

do u know anything about programming/development ? I don't. But i think it's obvious GF are working on smthg completely new and not continuing what Nevrax was doing before they left. They're talking of new weapons and missions. I suppose developping missions takes a couple months..but 3D stuff ? Designing, building 3D on the computer with software, creating the effects, the movement, and then developping it into the game...takes much more time.

W/ the new server's I dont notice any ping loss, just like I never got any w/ Jolt server's, the problem would lay w/ your ISP and how it route's you to where the server's are hosted in Germany and no longer in France.

The servers were never in France, they were in London. And it's not my ISP either, since I have 2 at the moment (one cable, one ADSL) and they suffer the same problem. Plus plenty of other people have the same issue. It could be a backbone issue, but thats not really my fault, is it?

Well, since the Gameforge has never had an MMO prior to the purchase of SoR, I say Cudos! They have NOT spoken of sweeping changes to make the game like some others. They HAVE taken positive steps towards cutting back on unneccesary expenses. I would like to see some new events soon however, not something like "Kill this many for this reward" type again. I'd truly like to see something that can affect all the lands and cause a needed reponse by players to combat, recapture, reopen certain key places in each land. In otherwords, something tangible that players can take some pride in having accomplished within the Lore of the game.
Just an Ole Man's thoughts.........
But, for now GF is doing the right thing. Take it slow and do it right in order to protect their investment.

Not theirs either, if that were the case.

Well server connectivity _is_ actually, for 2 main reasons:
If players have poor connections to their server, it spoils their gaming fun. If players dont have fun they unsubscribe...
Plus they _chose_ where to put their server, backbone issues are a factor of location.

actualy they have released something a lot better than any one could have hoped for:
remember when the announcement was made and everyone (myself included) was thinking that these were our last days on atys.
remember when we also heard that free ryzom wanted the game
well game forge got it and told us that our game was safe, i think personaly that was a pretty big gift to give the community, After all Nevrax was so great wasn't it they dropped the ball big time.
you guys can moan all you want about gf and how nothings been done and no changes made it just shows your extremely selfish andshort sighted attitudes, i'd love to see anyone of you do better in the same circumstance.
no scratch that i'd like to see anyone of you equal what gf has done in such a short space of time.

done nothing except -
-stopped the 3 times a week re-boots and increased uptime
-changed boss mobs so they dont pop on server reset to make it fairer
-made concrete plans which they wish to see through rather than make statements about future features that they will never quite get round to finishing,
-brought in a CSR team of players who understand the game and what they need to live up to.
-saved the game from the erronous clutches of the "free BS" team and previous ex devs who did nothing with financial backing never mind without
-transfered the whole server etc with minimal fuss
call me what you like but I'm pretty impressed with what they have achieved and glad that we have a team that regonises urgent problems and takes a long term view rather than reacting to whiners.
and they got AA's GH back
