So you were testing before the deal was closed? So you knew days ago that you were planning it? Why not tell us then, rather than when it is fait accompli? Even Saturday, once the deal was closed, would have been more open than after the fact. I think that's what people (myself included) have issue with about the move. Not the fact that you did it, just the fact you didn't tell us about it until it was done.

No warning = no openess.

First of all: I am sorry as well, that we have to leave Jolt. The thing is rather simple: Ryzom cannot afford the Jolt support. The did an excellent Job there.

The news about the maintenance.. well up till saturday we weren't sure if we would move the servers or not. Saturday the deal was closed, new hardware, more bandwith. We have of course tested before, and all went well, so we could move.

edit: Thanks xeno!
Phelan I really think the annoucement of this should have been handled better. We should have heard from GameForge about it first and also at the same time that we are given an annocement about it also be given an overview of the plans for the re organisation of Customer Support and the Event Teams. While we still would not be happy to see Jolt being let go, because of the brillent Customer Support they have given us, we would at least not be as uncertain about what your going to replace them with.

The bad point for me is that my excelent ping has gone a little worse. Fron 100 to 200-250. But that's my particular issue.
I doubt if your ping time of 250ms is gonna make a huge of difference. My ping time (NZ->Europe) averages 600ms - on a good day - and i only ever get perfromance degradation at Woodburn OP skirmishs.

And is there anyone still working for GF that knows the whole planned Lore/storyline or has that now been ditched?

Yes, this needs explaining better and in much more depth.

Why:
-Most of the CSR are volunteers anyway so it can't cost that much, or are they a package deal only with the hosting?

Whats next:
-Why are the CSR so upset? It doesn't sound like this went smoothly at all, is there something your not telling us?
-Have you made any effort to keep hold of the current voluntary team?
-Will there be a screening system for new CSR, as Phi said, we can't have any tom, dick and harry doing it.
-Whats happening to the events crew?

Edit: lol - everythings been asked 500 times since I typed this :D

I think that GF need to do a long and clear declaration of intentions and plans. Clearly they have yet an idea, so better we know. I think that the community has rearched the point where the uncertainity is worse than the bad news.

I agree, in fact that's pretty much what I said in my post before the one you quoted ;)

As you can see from this thread GF, things are delicately balanced at the moment. People are concerned at the way the server move has been handled and the way Jolt appear to have been dumped, despite assurances in the past that they would not be.

The community had (on the whole) a good relationship with Nevrax. It was based on an element of mutual trust and respect, which in turn was based on the belief that we all cared about Ryzom; that we all loved this game.

What the community is waiting to see is if our new friends at GF will show the same care.

Bottom line is you need to take better care of us and handle situations like this with more a open attitude. Or you will lose us.
