I'm one of those ones that tends to joke around at times on universe on cho(oddly haven't been repremanded for it) but I've seen once or twice where a question was nearly missed because of that chating/joking and that is taking away from the whole purpose of the channel so I don't have any problem with it when the CSR feels it's gotten out of hand and ask us to tone it down.

I usually send a direct tell to the person if a response to some of the questions need an in depth explanation.
I have recently turned off the universal channel because of the amount of 'pointless' comments and conversations on there.

I agree, as long as it IS the CSR. They're doing the job they're supposed to - and a great job they do too. :)

Well, somebody is always going to say *that*. However I don't mind at all that you keep up the chant. There are times when I stop myself from typing "but Mok, I am the only one *in* my region and *I* already thrill with the subtle ripost of my bon mot". I think we can all be thankful at my success to this point.

I am starting to like these asterisks *I may put them around everything I say*

I tend to talk more in Uni when I don't see anything for a while. If the channel has been quiet for 10 minutes, I might say something not directly help oriented. If the channel is busy, then I only answer questions.

Calevin...not true. I'm in the same zone as you a good bit. But if you throw out the /who and you find yourself alone just send me a tell and i'll come camp the zone with ya. Afterall, since Wezzy dropped me for Emptyish as his CP'r *guess i killed us too much* i can pretty much float around.

Also i've realized i need to add a cool sig like the rest of ya'll (cool points) but i don't think i can come close to Sio's so maybe i will leave it alone.

Today's MOTD:

"Since we have had complaints, Universe channel is Q&A only".

May I ask what does this mean?. What complaints exactly? complaints about players talking in Uni being scolded? complains about too much spamming in Uni? How many complaints? Will the nature of the Uni channel be enforced more?.

How should I interpret this message, behind the scenes: "we have tolerated some chitchating, we gave you some slack, but since you complain and you are not happy, now you'll see", or is it more "the spamming in Uni chatting is growing, we need to enforce it more"

I dunno, nice way to treat a group of supposedly grown up players  . What can I say?. I'm sorry, most of the people that tend to allow themselves some general chitchatting are those that usually give more detailed and helpful answers. Is the situation so bad that it required an explicit MOTD?

This way of treating the whole server population as if we were being childish may put off some people willing to help. Why not shutdown the Universe channel then and leave it strictly to CSRs?, it surely will be Q&A only. I interpret this the same way as if we were said that any conversation with CSRs should be "gameplay or ticket-related" conversations only....Universe channel has a purpose, allow players to ask questions, and allow other players to answer them (in part to help CSRs in a distributed manner?). The MOTD implies "you may answer, but nothing else".

Overreacted ...What about "Welcome to Arispotle! <o> Have a nice stay in Atys <o> http.// <o> Please remember that Universe channel is mainly for Q&A<o>

I bet it was Talenthia's fault. She keeps dropping pins in Uni and people get hurt - they practically fall over themselves to get wounded - I knew sooner or later someone would spill the whole box.
