At the original poster:
Ryzom is NOT a game based on PvP.
When you have two sides struggling in any game
There is a storyline, to the side of the main storyline that talks about the Karavan and the Kami hatred of one another. This
other storyline has allowed for there to be a little PvP action in the game. Factional tags were implimented for the factional wars, and outposts were implimented, which eventually because factional objects.
The main storyline though, is
not based upon the Kami and the Karavan. The main storyline is about Homins trying to reorganize themselves after the orginal Kitin Invasion.
Now, due to the fact that the main storyline of Ryzom is not based on PvP, powerleveling with cats so one can be of use is not necessary, nor is it a good thing. By using and craving cats (yes, they are addictive), on levels far to fast. In leveling so fast, one misses out on the
first grind. The first grind of any branch is very critical to a players experience in game.
It has been to my displeasure to run across what I like to call "high level noobs." Due to cats, new players to the game, Ryzom, are able to level fast. In leveling fast, they do not learn the correct ways to pull a mob, to taunt multiple mobs. They do not learn that healing is an art that cannot be rushed. A "high level noob" also does not learn that when you are nuking, and your healer is low on HP/Sap, that tossing that healer some life force will, in effect save the entire team for a nice little wipe.
So, what I am trying to tell you, orginal poster, and upcoming new players, cats are bad. They are an addictive drug that takes away from the experience of Ryzom and creates "high level noobs" whom I kick from my teams for being such complete idiots.
I hope you have learned something from this, because it took me long enough to type.
