As far as I know there where an international server before (the english speaking one, who is result of the merge of the north american one and the european one), and the population of the servers wheren't high enouth.
So for me Cho isn't neded, and as he isn't needed, he won't have the needed population, and this is why you are experiencing difficultes.
Tell me, those of you who use the English server, did there where so many people on the server that another one was needed? I might be wrong, but I don't think so.
The US and English servers were merged due to low population on each one.
I have played Cho and Arispotle, IMO Cho is underpopulated and was released to the detriment of Arispotle, When Cho was opened, you could not get a Plod team in Void (Arispotle) for love or money, because so many people had their alts on Cho.
Consequently I made an alt on Cho as there was noting for me that I wanted to do on Arispotle except dig. Anyway for various reasons I left Cho and returned to Arispotle, to find it repopulated again.
Now you can get a Plod team fairly easily on Arispotle, because alot of people that went to Cho, have returned to Arispotle.
But to be honest I dont ever think there will be a "proper community" on Cho, there are maybe 3 main guilds (haven't been there for a bit tbh, so I'm not sure on that). The two largest of the three dont particularly get on very well, which causes friction and makes the smaller guilds nervous as they are afraid to get involved for fear of antagonising the larger guilds and losing what they have.
At an OP battle, maybe about 20/30 combatants on each side compared to about 100 per side on Arispotle, which IMO are low participation figures for both servers and points to the fact that even if the servers were merged, there would still be a pretty low overall population.
Gratz to Beefy for the initiative he is taking and I hope it works out, but due to the low population and an embargo of new player subs, I cannot really see the Cho population growing.
My suggestion would be that all existing guild leaders sit down and carve up Cho between them (I know it sounds bad and would make Cho go in a direction that some people went there to correct vs Arispotle), there are more than enough OP's there, so that shouldn't be a problem.
They should agree on a spirit of participation and trade with each other and from there, try to build a community.
Sorry for hijacking your thread Beefy and as I dont play on Cho anymore, I feel like an imposter making suggestions to Cho players, but in a long winded way, I was trying to suggest a way for your desire for an active Cho to work
Peace and Love and all sorts of Fluffiness
