It's a side effect of Digital Watches.

I agree with much of what Morgaine and others have stated previously on this thread. As a new member to Cho that just barely slipped through the subscription door before they locked it behind me, it was (and still is) very awkward at times.
My first 3 days mainland seemed like i was stuck in some sort of ghosttown where you spend most of your time looking for the ever elusive "blue dots" to try to get at least some sort of human contact. I play a male zorai character and the jungle especially seemed empty for those starting out with no new characters coming in.
Throughout those first days however, i slowly accumulated a few scraps of what could be refered to as a "friends list" and started to be able to find groups with SLIGHTLY less downtime. Eventually i ran into a character named Praha who took pity on me and decided to trek me to the far off desert lands, which admitadly are still very sparse, but since making my home there i have really never looked back.
I found a great guild in EoA full of great people that while PvP may not even be an option yet with the lack of population on Cho, have really banded together to help me out and make this game worthwhile for me so far, and without their help this game as is would be otherwise unplayable.
I really do hope that those starting out choose to at least tough it out for a few weeks until the future of Ryzom becomes more clear, though this really is a fearful time in the lifespan of Ryzom i cant see how it won't only improve with a new owner as while Nevrax has shown that they do love their creation, they do not have the manpower or financial clout to do it justice anymore as events/updates happen have been happening more infrequently for quite some time even prior to the announcements from what i can tell.
If anyone else on Cho either needs help for any reason, or want a friend to help them trek around to different regions, or a person to group with for any reason, feel free to msg me ingame or friends me as im on regularly(my characters name is "Beefy") and i'll be more than glad to help you. Thanks for all who are sticking it out with me.

http://www.ryzom.org in your browser and rather open a posting here requesting us to spoon-feed you with the info? now thats funny
Actually no, you do not have this straight, and no I was not given a e-mail telling me where any site IS, only after someone linked it was I aware the site was opened, last i knew it required an account and password.....soo as I have been so gracefully made aware of by others, trolling is not appreciated on these forums....so go do it elsewhere, you are not going to win this one princess.....

You go public with your questions, so you gotta live with the feedback, whether its what you expect or not.

Actually we are looking for a forum not full of self centered, schmarmy, cocky, closed minded indeviduals......But I guess that is too much to ask for when the likes of you pokes your head into the discussion.....

It's like winning the Special Olympics there from what we see on the forums, the winners are those that were losers on Ari... The losers are those who thought it would be a server for new players and guilds, to start off fresh with a chance to own an OP... The Ari server rejects and losers banded together and took it over... They are however winning over the ghost town they created...
I'm disappointed in you.
Then again that's not something new but I finally bothered to find out how to use the ignore option on these forums.
Yours

Yea, gotta agree that this seems a little harsh to be generalizin the whole server and its entire population, but to each his own i guess. I am havin a pretty decent time on Cho myself personally and probably even play with these "special olympics" rejects daily lol =)
I can't really speak on how thing run on your server, but if your only goin by what you read on the forums about cho, then i would probably at least see what the server's like first hand myself before passing judgement. If i'm to be considered "special olympics" material, then i guess i'm pushin special Ed' and the Short bus kids all the way. If you want to see just how special we can be then stop on by and send me a tell sometime.

ummax wrote:rofl why would someone want to hear about ryzom on a site that basically looks like an attempt to make a second ryzom or something. Also not all of the players on this board got the wierdo email of questionable validity about the site. Ryzom.org looks like one of those private server sites made where they steal a code to a game and attempt to run an outdated version of the game with limited resources.
I would much rather hear it on this site
Not to mention it takes me 20 tries to get the thing to resolve and only managed to get the page to come up once for me...
Ryzom.org is run on a server with limited resources (bandwidth, finances etc.) and as such serves its purpose. But (and this will be obvious to those that know the site), ryzom.org was mentioned on
Slashdot, a site with several million daily users, where a large part of those are interested in GPL and related topics (ryzom.org wants to turn the game to GPL), and hence a lot of the /. users keep looking at the site (see the
Slashdot effect). IF ryzom.org get the resources it need, it will improve (if really lucky they will get hosted freely by Sunsite or other helpful organisations).

I'm complaining with the people who say "don't ask this or that" or "go another forum to see info". Only with that people, not with the people who said things about the question, even if I don't think the same.
