What about... more than 1 title for each? ^^
Then everyone can choose what he likes!

Okay, so next step is for -100 Kami/Karavan Titles, right? To show our....intense dislike of the other faction? (not necessarily the followers) :P

This is the route to go. Just add the nationality a character has achieved their fame requirement in.

At present fame missions do not embody the civilization for which they represent. Therefore, having a title that reflects the ideals or spirituality of a national culture does not actually reflect the present fame system.

If the goal is to add a layer of character/plot development I would recommend coming up with a paragraph or two of what you, as a designer, want these fame titles to reflect. Then look at the paragraphs and create a title that sums up those goals.

Neutrals did ZERO work to get +0 Neutral fame. And you expect a title?

To differentiate ourselves from the rest, yes. Keeping to that middle ground is a sacrifice, that counts as much as work.

Sounds like a story I once heard from a college buddy who said it was real hard work trying to fail his classes. I didn't buy that, and I don't buy that going out of your way to not get fame is work. Sorry, no nibble here.

By remaining neutral one loses access to 250 area teleports and PR teleports. That is a big sacrifice to make for some IC moral consistency or refusal to join a pointless war. That sacrifice is worthy of some manner of recognition. One also loses access to PvP tag, faction chat and the higher reaches of fame.

Still achieved by a lack of work. All the other titles are a biproduct of effort. Not lack thereof.

And neutrality is a byproduct of sacrifice.

its just choosing not to change the default settings every char gets when they come in to the game. you choose to miss out of titles, etc. As Raynes has pointed out extensively, this game is all about the growing conflict between two factions. If you choose to not take a side, then you choose to miss out of some of the game. Why would the developers reward people for refusing to take part in what the game is about? They shouldn't and i hope they won't. Homin fits neutrals just fine.
