And as an after thought I'll post that in the past I have considered entering into the community OP because I see this as a good thing. The only issue stopping us from participating is that as a guild we could really care less about the cats and flowers. As foragers and crafters, we are actually more interested in mats. This basic difference in focus pretty much makes us the odd man out in any community OP alliance, since most folks just want the cats.

I could be mistaken in my understanding, but when I was in a guild that owned an OP I was told you have to take down the cat drill to erect a mat drill. The dapper cost isn't much of an issue- the loss of cats is what prevented the mat drill from going up very often.

Half right - you still get mats out of a cat drill, just less often.

Thanks for clarifying that for me Spriteh, I wasn't completely sure about it and now I know :)

Why does it always have to be me ? :P

TW i know recive some cats from here but again.. seem almost inactive with only a couple of players knocking about. that seems to indicate that theres alot of cats going to a small number of homins or a big cat sink..

Or maybe there are many reciveing the cats.. I dont know.. perhaps someone can enlighten me??
Well said... I just watch like you but have wondered this, but as long as it is not Kami controlled it's off my radar scope. Well said...

It wasn't meant as an attack on you DT, I respect your role in the Kara community- I just used you as a reference because you are one of the most vocal members of the "devout" Kara community.

edit:I probably should have used Raynes as your Kami counterpart in my example as well.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with your view of the conflict, I just choose not to immerse myself that deeply in the "war".

*chuckles* after pondering DT's comment I have decided that I'll start referiing to factional alignment as being one of four states-

Devout: heavily PvP oriented (not necessarily expansionist- though many would argue against this point I don't agree that you have to be expansionist in order to be devout)

Moderate: Follows factional lines in Pvp, will defend other factional OP's

Lapsed: Ignores factional lines in Pvp/OP when it suits their interests / alliances. (formerly coined as Kamivan- isn't this a much nicer name? lol)

Heretic(al?): Factional for TPs only :)

Though some might argue I have heritics and lapsed reversed I think that there are plenty of instances when "lapsed" Kara and Kami also show factional support, while the heretics basically just got the fame for the tps.

OK done derailing this thread. My apologies for sidetracking this important Arispotle issue.

I actually don't care any more who this OP goes to. If some new up and coming guild wants to take it, good luck and more power to ye.

If Zysha and the rest of Coop decide to insert a new "community" OP caretaker in place, please post info with specifics (date, time, etc). Will try to bring guildies, at least those who still log on, to help out -- as long as the OP is still going to be for the Community.

TC all. Happy outposting.

nonde wrote:It is time for those who are benefitting from the community op of Southend Dunes Farm to take responsibility for the running of it. Numbers in Eleytheria have fallen, it is too much work for few as has been evident with no shows on several occasions, and is also not appropriate for a small guild to keep 3 of the 7 days output. I am not available to run it again, and it is also preferrable that it be run as a co-op in any event.

Running the op as a co-op would entail participating guilds having members create an alt who joins a new guild - possibly called Co-OP to reflect the cooperative and also co ownership of the outpost. At minimum there would be 2 persons who could withdraw cats, the leader and HO and ideally enuf alts to create more than 1 HO. Leadership can be transferred and HO's reassigned which means the work of distributing can be shared, the op can be transferred as ppl leave with no need to declare and fight, ppl can take breaks, and others who wish to donate can create alts and do so directly as well.

It's move it or lose it time folks. You want the community op to continue and also to improve upon what at times was less than 5 stacks a week per guild, you have to get active. If you wish to be active but don't like the alt guild model, put forward another proposal plz, as I would love to see the community op strong and working as intended and whatever achieves that is perfect :)

Cheers all :)

Hi Zysha,

I'm rather new to the whole Ryzom experience being still a baby compared to you legendary folks. I do currently run a new guild of players which i will honestly admit are heading the Kami way. We are also mainly based in Zora but have a few players who have Teleports to all major cities.

I have no personal emnity towards the Karavan or neutrals, i think i'm a pretty fair person on all accounts and i would like to help the whole community by offering my services in this matter.

I would gladly and freely distribute the goods this OP would create so that ALL players, Guildless or otherwise could enjoy some of the materials and cats produced by outposts.

May Guild is called the Mercenaries of Atys and you are welcome to ask if we are honourable in universe or otherswise :) i hope you get a good answer i would like it if people did see us that way.

Anyway not to bug you anymore i'll leave you in peace.

My characters name is Waylanda and i'm on most of the time - even when i should probably be asleep.

Night all
