Is there _ANY_ self benefit from being a 250 healer?

Come in, pull up a chair, let's discuss all things Ryzom-related.

Just to mess up other peoples arguements, I have developed a technique of healer-tanking :)
but it simply relies on Mobs tendency to aggro onto healers, so being a big tough healer with high melee skilll and lots of hitpoints, I sit out in front and bomb heal the nuker and second healer, who keeps me up.

The simple fact is, there is no great benefit in getting any second (combat) skill to 250. Whichever you get first gives you your resistances, and stats, and dodge, and speed, and invul. Melee skills will give you parry and damage for that weapon, and elemental will give you benefits to breaking through resistances.
Afflictions as always, are the poor stepchild, with nothing beyond level 240 but the cool title :(

But since it is impossible to solo healing anyway, looking for solo benefits from it is kind of like asking a bricklayer to build an airplane...

Then play a different game, as here you will need to depend on others.

I disagree, flexibility is _very_ important. A nuker that can turn around and heal a struggling team, a meleer who can pop antimagic aura (dont forget, the protection auras are linked to other skill levels) etc.

Not to mention the skillpoints, you cant buy all your upgrades _and_ spells etc the first time through. As a 250 nuker/209 healer, I actually only finished buying everything when I got my afflicts up as well... I have 250 2h axe and a bunch of other fight skills I have leveled including 2h ranged at 140, and I am _still_ buying useful melee skills.

Personally I want hand to hand 250, so I dont get murdered when I forget to swap frm parry back to dodge while casting...
