Re: A New Era
I have an extremely lengthy transcript of the event here with most of the static and the shockingly disrespectful comments removed. Certain portentous comments left in.
My deepest sympathies to Lady Ailan and Still Wyler's family.
Edit: Thankyou Spriteh.

(I've no idea to whom this was addressed)Was addressed at the representative of the Black Circle tribe (Muang hoi-gi) who insulted Mabreka immediately before.
Re: A New Era
Its a shame so many loud mouths have to attend these events and drown out what is actualy going on
Re: A New Era
Yeah, who elected Xalis anyway?
Does anyone have any idea of Assassin's motive? Certain people seemed to have some interest in preventing the treaty from being signed - Spiff most vocally - but I believe only those on the Council and those closest to them actually knew the content of the treaty. The treaty itself seems innoccuous enough, leading me to suspect that the motive had little to do with it but was rather to inspire hatred and mistrust of Matis in the Tryker nation. Assuming that Assassin is definitely identified as a Matis. I am concerned that Assassin was wearing boots of Fyros origin and thought to have been seen at a Fyros function, that Xalis was unperturbed by events and that another Fyros (?), Ulyros, is in charge of the investigation.

Re: A New Era
A Sad day for the Tryker people indeed Both with the death of Wyler and the wording of this treaty.
We will never know what was in Stil's thoughts as he signed this.

Re: A New Era
Homins,
Here is the Treaty signed by all four powers in the Nexus, just before Governer Wyler's brutal murder
The Tryker Federation wishes to thank everyone for their condolences and to announce that Shinder Salan, of the guild of Federal Affairs, will be acting as governor on an interim basis until an election can be arranged.

Heed my words!
Re: A New Era
An assassin from the Black circle killing a Tryker? Interesting. The Black circle are known associates of the goo, and that should point to the unusual aspectes of the weopon use, as you have probably already surmised.
Hmm, if I am not mistaken at least one Zorai Kami alligned guild (where there others homins present?) recently tried to stop a transport of toxic waste in the prime roots. Which, I am pretty sure, originated in the Tryker lands. Sadly the transport was to heavyly guarded and it made it through. And I hear that the transport of the toxic waste made it way towards the goo at the Black circle camp.
Maybe we can finally be given the knowledge and tools to purge Atys of the goo, if given earlier as some of us have requested, this sad event might have not happend.
And this former Senator Xalis is one shifty fellow, traveling to Matis under pretence and what not. I won't mind telling you, something is afoot.
A good friend of mine, Mimm, Zorvax and I was talking one evening when we were blessed by the presence of Mabreka (out walking and discussion some matters of state with advisor Cuan Sa-ki, and guarded by Chan Ji-Cian). We were further blessed when he acknowledged us. After he left, our talks drifted to recent events, including the escort of Xalis to Yrkanis for the parade.
At Yrkanis he devulged his reason to travel undercover and his real purpose, he asked us to assist him further (which I refused, he had already dishonoured our help of him during the trek under false pretext). It turns out he was there to hold secret meetings where Witherings and the Kami was mentioned.
We realised that the Grand Sage might not have heard of this, and Mimm and I felt that it might not have been an accidint that Mabreka passed by us that evening and we decided to ask for an audience. He again blessed us with his presence and we told what we knew. I think some of this came as a surprise, at least the advisor showed signs of it. I can only assume this information was taken under further investigation, and told to those who needs to know. If the happenings at the signing is any indication, more is happening that we homins know about.
Truely a blessing to be allowed to talk to Mabreka in person, I hope the blessing extends to my children when the time comes. Uhm, ah, but I am straying from what is important. *blush*
The loss of Govenor Still Wyler is a hard blow to hominkind, and I am afraid will upset the delicate nature of the current balance, which is already skewed after the recent events in Fyros and Matis.
As for the treaty, it is a fine piece of work to balance both faith, state and their interests. But that is also it failings, too many compromises have been made and too many alternative views been left out. Any future development that might happen are already slashed down before they could rise, be they new beliefs or nations. One could speculate that the reason it is worded as it is, is that neutral was not present at the negotiations (not surprisingly seen from a nations standpoint). As it is now the spirit of the treaty have honour but the text itself lacks it, and at present I can't see any reason to abid blindly by it. Also I have this nagging feeling that it came about in parts to stop one force to obtain all in its path and do what it wanted, the treaty at least gives the hope of peace and further talks to strenghten a united hominkind.
And I think that is why Govenor Wyler did all he could do to sign the treaty, he knew how hard the negotiations had been, what was at stake and how his influence had made a treaty to further peace and prosperity of homins everywhere.
Govenor Wyler will be remember for his many good deeds and for his efforts to do what he thought was right for homins. His legacy will stand as a hallmark for many years to come, and a beacon for future govenors to follow. And is there one thing I know, it is that the Trykers have the heart and soul to keep his honour alive, as should we all.
Govenor Still Wyler, I grieve at your death, may the memory of you and your deeds stay bright through the ages.
OOC: If you are up to speed on current events, you will notice one player event mentioned. The guild just happend to do an event which fitted very nicely into the official one, and would be a waste not to include. And as such, that guild is not connected in anyway with any nefarious happenings. Just to be clear.
P.S. Written at the crack of dawn, so if something doesn't make complete sense, you know why.

Re: A New Era
Ok, since no one else has said it yet, can we have an official statement about the "typo" in this posted treaty?Tidings wrote:Here is the Treaty signed by all four powers in the Nexus
"Homins who have (not) attained citizenship owe allegience to the Nation of their race"
The posted treaty is missing the "not" that was read out - in my mind this sentence now contradicts the previous one, so would it be possibe for one of the two versions to be confirmed as "official"?
