There is nothing wrong with posting information on how to kill Aen. I don't see how some people would consider this a spoiler. If I were to post an awesome resist recipe would that offend jewel crafters? I might gain the ire of some jewel masters for revealing a trade secret, but thats about it.

So, thats what we have here. Some people are mad because their precious little secret is now available to everyone. All guilds (kami and kara) will have an opportunity to own a set of Aen armor. I consider people who said Aen was unattainable and knew the secret the real spoilers.

Now all the young guilds have something to work for. Work hard and get your levels; soon you'll have a nice set of Aen armor.

That's funny... ( I don't have a set, I don't care about Aen, and I am prolly the crappiest melee player around, have never sold an aen set -- one I had I gave it to Rundll a long time ago --) but your post seems so noble, and so selfless that I can't but bow.

It is nevertheless a coincidence that the post has been made public once a guild I respect has publically announced they are leaving. Was this post made right after they found the way?

Edit: I would just like to add that it's of course fair game to work on a strategy, keep it on internal circles and evenetually , reveal it -- make no mistake.. it *is* a spoil -- but pretending you did the *right thing*, and all those who state that it shouldn't have been posted are nothing but selfish players that want to keep it for themselves is a bit extreme. It's not black and white. Regardless if you hoard them to equip your guildies or to auction them for 60 M.. there's little difference

im not on this thread to annoy infinity, im mearly posting what i beleive to be correct.
ive been on infinity vent for months, and wud class you all as mates, and i dont care who killed aen or when or first, wud much prefer you guys not to leave, you know that, lets not end this "saga" on a bad note, and as for the remaining infinity i will do as they ask as i did for you.

Things were said in vent by guests that promted this thread to be created. Mr./Mrs. "I Have No Idea Who took Aen Down" can probably fill you in on the details. Enough said. We made sure to get everyone who didn't have a set a set before we left. No schemes, no illusions of bazarre auctions going for billions and trillions of dappers.

As of the last week, to my knowledge, there was only the intention of sayin but a goodbye to a community and offering our appreciation in friend and foe.

The only reason Aen was initially mentioned was to present the case that we've done pretty much everything except maybe smoke Psykopla Bud and ingest Yelk Mushrooms while going on a vision quest with the Cuzans.

no, I did that too... s'how I ended up in Loria face down in the sand, and oddly enough, naked. Don't think I'll be doing that again...



and to those claiming that it will be constantly camped? sure, it could be. But the question is how often you can get all the needed people to do that hunt. a high level OA/ high DA tend to be somewhat scarce, and even then, its all based off of teamwork and organization. you can't just throw together 4 people and go take her out anymore. Like I said, even a full team of players can have its close calls. Of course then theres the 'who gets the armor' conversation before the hunt begins...

To those complaining of a spoiler. Yes, it is a bit, I admit. Shads put the warning on just over 30 mins after the post went up, so you can't complain too much. Its now clearly marked. If you don't want to to read it, then don't. Consider me the ultimate Kami. some Kami folk now knew how to kill her (and maybe 1 or 2 Karas ) so I now maintain the balance by letting everyone know, including the kara.

To Anni, sure, we got some sets and kept how to do it secret, but we never opened up shop and sold them off. The potential for millions of dappers was there, but we chose to simply stick to arming our guildies. Selfish, possibly, but not exploiting the masses in any way. And how often did you see us actually wearing the things?

On another side note here, I had an idea for an event (something you might be interested in Scar). I had planned to call it Morgs All-Melee Marvel, but since i won't be around anymore, you can come up with a new name

Essentially you have a set number of players in a team (say 6). You have 5 of them all suit up in HA with a melee weapon of their choice. The 6th person is the healer for the battle. They are the only player who would be able to equip amps. No ele enchants, no affs enchants. Only enchants allowed would be heal enchants. Give the added difficulty of attempting to keep the healer healed while still in combat.
So two teams duke it out. 5 v 5 melee with a healer each. You could add more rules like no auras or no NPC armors to make it a better fight, but it should be an interesting event to watch as well as take part in.

No... we did not post how as soon as we discovered the system. While I'm not sure I'd call it "selfish" I am sure I wouldn't call it "selfless." Same idea as the OP crafting tools... Groom's sexy 97 on everything cept one 96 amp... or even Alegra's hat. Some people just have their secrets... and it's better that way. Would I like to be crafting Groom's amps... with Melinoe's tools ... while wearing Alegra's hat.... sure... but I hold them no ill will for keeping their secrets.

Part of the reason this was posted initially was... yes... we no longer needed guard the information... but another part was the fact that there is a system for everything. After days of trying Aen we had hoped to god that it was changed. Hoped you truly needed an army to kill her... but then after a few months of continued Aen research... fearing her.... dragging her... rooting her... smack talking ("Aen the desert noob"... I believe was the exact line) we found the system. Killing her ... discovering that it truly was a system and not just pure numbers was perhaps the straw that broke the Infinite camel's back. We had done it all... again. We had grown tired of the vapid lassie-faire (shameless french plug) mentality regarding outposts. Since we decided to leave... we've shared our crystals... our OPs... our absurd stock of supreme mats... why not the secret to killing the hardest boss in game we thought? I do commend Shad for adding the spoiler title... that was something perhaps overlooked in the initial post... though I do give Morgy credit for putting a rather complicated procedure into text... lord knows I wouldn't wanna do it.

Personally I feel Ciri hit the head of the nail with his post. We've lost that (loving feeling?) drive that we had to excel... lost the fire that kept us here and loving it. For everyone staying... please... rejoice that you have't lost what we have. With rare exception... this is a great community... it kept us around for ages longer than the actual counterparts of the game itself could have ever dreamed. Continue to enjoy helping "noobs"... I hope you will always be wow-ed by the visual beauty that is Ryzom... enjoy hearing kipees roar and watching meks munch on their long blades of grass (still my fav animation)... and if you think this post spoiles the fun of killing Aen... you are sorely mistaken. It'll be 30 minutes to 2 hours of wipes and near wipes.... teambuilding... teamwork... and yes.... key mashing... just to have a chance to win.

And... if you feel this post truly takes away from your gaming experience then; I'd have to say I'm sorry for being part of hurting your gaming experience... but ask you... if one small thing like this hurts your gaming experience so deeply... isn't that a sign of something bigger? Some of us said yes... others of us said no. We're being honest with everyone here... and for the first time in a long time... honest with ourselves. That is something I feel does not warrent an apology.
