Ai but they are doing it all over the closed forumsUnregistered wrote:its proberly because when people have an opinion etched into there minds that they believe is right, it takes a while for them to realise that other people have valid opinons on any given subject, and so they get offended i guess
its not trolling, its just someone wanting to get there opinion accross, kinda like a 2 way convicing thing...

Actually the games you spent your time on say it all... no need to comment

Well, true. DAOC has horrid textures on the world but not the player chars.
AC2 has great graphics and are functional.
The problem in Ryzom is they utilized fancy texture mapping functions, reflections and shadows, but they don't work well together.
I'd say City of Heroes is a better game graphically than Ryzom. Style aside, the shadows, fog and reflections there work seemlessly.
I guess when I looked at Ryzom I saw a lot of latest tricks but they just didn't appear to work well. Plus the UI is to busy and there's so much clutter in the game it's hard to feel immersed.
As for the game taking you by the hand and introducing you to it; I don't think it's much to do with Hyperactive teenagers. Any good game out there in my book will have a tutorial or something that will aquaint you with the game, or really thick documentation.
I didn't learn much from the Ryzom manual, and the tutorial in game is horrible. They should at least teach you how to use the UI before you do anything in the game.
Just my 2 cents.
