Daggers do pityful damage yet there are still people crafting them and some actually use em! Magic is by Far the best way to kill stuff yet some people still use melee...Zoraï heavy is ugy still people wear it.
These new "uber" shields may apeal to a lot of people but that won't make shield crafters redundant...

lvling something isnt always about it being the most powerful, i know alot of people who just find knives fun, ele is easy to lvl and poweful, if anything it needs making less powerful..michielb wrote:try killing a Plod with only daggers....

I do think it makes sense that event rewards are better than what homin crafters can make, but then they should also be more rare. Limit it to one per person and make it unreplacable, so that players will save the event items for those situations where they really need that extra boost, and still use the normal crafted items for their daily activities. Or, if the equipment is offered in 'infinite' supply, give it some special bonus that crafted items can't have, but don't make it superior in every way.
It's the combination of easy availability and better than supreme statistics that's the problem. With my amount of honor points, I can afford over a hundred of the q250 shields. So if the reward giver will be around forever, I doubt I will ever need a shield crafter again.
No level requirements on shields is a seperate matter in my opinion. If they did have level requirements I'd just get the q200 shields; they're still better than what a shield crafter could make out of supreme materials. I just think it's always bad if there's any item that doesn't have a level requirement, as it always makes all crafters below level 250 redundant.
