Nevrax, I'd just like to point out the attitude of the PvPer and what is killing your game. Companies generally want people to play their game, and *gasp* come back if they've left

these people don't. Why are you catering to them?

I am catering to me and those I play with... None have them have left, not a single one. Actually some are popping back in now.

To have all the 1 man, RP and neutral guilds making noise about something that effects them as little as this new part of the storyline is sickening. Nobody is forced to do anything, yet you act like you were all put into these zones against your will. It's like going into the neighbors yard and whining that his dog bit ya...

Stay on the porch...

So...without going into the new zones, how are we to get at the new content that is a reward for high Harvest or Craft(not fight, if someone has taken the fight mission, they presumably want to PvP), and bought with honor points? Content that we have been waiting for for over a year?
Why didn't they introduce the non-PvP stuff first, so that everybody would have a chance, instead of satisfying the less savory inhabitants of Atys?

I mean, they are the minority, not just on the forums, either.

I did the /who+count thing several times over the last few days. never got a number higher than 124. If that is indeed the majority (and that number includes at least a handful of us that have no interest in PvP, myself, Jyudas, and whoever orangutaun avatar is, and probably a few others), that means a server population of 247, at maximum. Go ahead and double that, heck, tripple it because not everybody is on at the same time, and they have been weekdays. You get 741 as the maxmum possible population, if it's actually the majority that want PvP. That's a pretty pathetic number.

We've seen this coming for awhile. I've voiced concerns about it, I've railed against it. I've also secretly hoped that I would be proven wrong. That this "mature" community would be the one to be different, the one that could actually handle non-consentual PvP without the vindictiveness, name-calling (1PWNDJ00N00B), and childish behavior that has always gone with PvP. As evidenced by region-chat, by intentionally pulling agro on the defenseless to not only kill them but give them DP, even by killing those who are defenseless yourself, and then actually bragging about such behavior, this is not the case.

I'm going to sleep on it, but from this trend that started when they made the first areas PvP till now, and have repeatedly made more and more in-roads into decent behavior (actually rewarding people who gank with "honor" points, that still pi**es me off), it may be that I have wasted over a year's worth of free time on a doomed project. Ryzom has nothing to offer that any one of a dozen gank-fests can't do better (although I do still like the 3D modeling, that is done well).

The only truly nasty and angry attacks are in the forums, against PvPers. There's so much fun, friendly ribbing, and good sportsmanship in-game it's not even funny.

I have some advice for anyone distraught. I'm being serious too -- please try to think about what I'm saying, and don't worry about replying: Try to let it roll off your back. Stubbornly refusing to accept the new content will really only hurt you. I'm not saying like it. I'm not saying take part in the killing and tactics. I'm not saying that you shouldn't complain about the content being PvP oriented. I'm saying that a lot of people would end up enjoying things more by taking an accepting attitude, just in terms of not letting things get to you. It's not really as bad as taking an active role in this argument would make it seem.

I just had another awesome night in the new area, only this time it was a little bit different. A group of about 50 Karavan homins joined together fought for and held the plateau for (until I left) 3 hours. We formed a ring and enabled the harvesters to collect as much building material as they could hold. It was by far the biggest example of teamplay and cooperation I have witnessed in this or any other game. It felt good to be a part of it. Thank you to everyone involved in it.

I think you hit the nail on the head there, TEAMPLAY, people need to work together.

This doesn't seem to be a new Nevrax concept, teamplay and co-operation were applied to the normal areas a long time ago. Yes, you can solo, but its difficult, it's upto you, adapt your playing style or continue sitting in these forums complaining and throwing your toys out of your pram.

PS - don't start on the consensual non-consensual stuff, every argument can be turned on it's head and everyones' oppinion is correct. Just try to get in there and enjoy yourselves for a change.
