However, those who say "dig somwhere else" probably haven't spent alot of time trying to dig Scorched Corridor. I do it sometimes, if I'm feeling mildly suicidal, and want a mat I that isn't in FF. My highest non-dig, non-craft, ability is healing at 170, and because dodge doesn't work very well against mobs, that is of little help(175 dodge, and the only thing I can avoid with any success is a suckling yubo

). Because I have spent most of my time leveling craft, my fight/nuke abilities top out at 115/125, no help there.
Sometimes, if I manage to make it to a spot at all, I can get between 10 and 54 mats, before I die. If they are exe, it is sometimes worth it. However, leveling craft takes thousands of mats per level once you hit 230+ or so. at an average of 32 mats per trip, and DP removal in between trips, it would take rather a long time to raise craft past 240.
With all due respect, the advice to "dig somewhere else in that region" is ****.
Ummm youve just not found the right places yet , the only trouble with Scorched is the lack of Outposts for Hawkers to hang around but maybe they stop eslewhere and
I just havent found them yet
Its gonna be a whole new ball game down there once the Secret Kami Oasis opens up
(242 in Desert btw

)
Edit:- oh yeah forgot to add I like to go through the regions as I run missions and explore between digs -breaks up the monotony (sp?) of forage grind quite nicely and gives some very usefull fame (lol maybe one day

)

Not everyone who is digging is digging to raise their Harvest skill. I dig primarily to raise my crafting abilities, so as to provide as many options as I am capable of to others, and because the develeopers have made some of the effects of combining different materials interesting enough to pique my interest.
If it takes 20 extra minutes to reach a spot with grind mats, that is equal to one Death Penalty.
If it takes another 20-40 minutes to fill your pack because of agro, that is equal to another one or two Death Penalties.
If it takes another 20 minutes to unload your mats, so that you may fill up with the other two mat types you need to do your crafting with (with ticket bulk, I only have room in my pack for 3 nodes worth of mats, I used to have room for 4), that is equal to a third or fourth Death Penalty.
I often have little time to spend actually playing the game. Today, I have 20 minutes this morning(not enough time to log in and get something done), and 2 hours this evening when I should be able to play. I am not alone in this, many who play, as useful members of society, have jobs, deadlines, or family to take care of, hence the increased request for solo content and balanced mobs.
Even if I survived a dig in Scorched Corridor (which is unlikely, even though my defensive capabilities are above thos granted as maximum for Harvesting alone) that is 1 hour to 1 hour 20 minutes out of 2 hours I have available to me. Half to more than half of my time, wasted.
Drop it, the Kami Tolerance needs to be increased in regeneration speed, at least. It was set to low for the demands being placed on it by current use to work within the framework of game mechanics. It does not work.
If making it an individual thing is too much work for the developers, raising it to regenerate at least 1500 mats per hour would be appropriate, both for game mechanics, and game lore. At a regeneration of 1500, two people could harvest from a source-field, and maintain the Tolerance, providing they excercised a little discretion. It would take three or more for the field to be over-worked and Kami Tolerance to begin to drop steadily. This would give those in every time-zone, and with time constraints, a chance.

I would agree with the general idea that people should dig in like-level areas.
But...
Isn't asking them to stay out, while they CAN in fact dig there, just like asking people under 230 NOT to hunt Great Jugs in big groups, cause they're the only fast EXP people near 250 can duo? (and I WAS one of the people that was duoing them at 230+, I'm being fair here)
Just seems pretty rude when I think about it that way :P

I'm sorry but you are all wrong....I HAVE THE PROOF....
For along time now I have suspected "other forces" were the main factor in lowering KT. Surely my own 800-900 mats per hour were a non-contributor. Just the other day I noticed a significant decrease in the KT at the Zun spot in Underspring where myself and my trusty sidekick, Pliskin, were testing our picks. I cunningly hid in full view and waited and there it was the proof I had been waiting for !!!!
The Proof!!
Now if the devs could please stop supplying mobs with picks.........
