Sry, but that's a profit.
this is the biggest BS (bodokin something) i have readed in years.

btw, you dont need to buy game anymore, just subscribe after 7 days. no "free" month tho
On Monday, October 3, Nevrax will change the Free Trial and the acquisition of the game in order to welcome more players. The Free Trial period will be reduced from 14 to 7 days, but the cost of the converting to a paid subscription, which includes the software, will be lowered from 25.99 € / 16.99 £ / 29.99 $ to 12.90 € / 8.49 £ / 14.95 $, which includes the first month’s paid subscription fee.

I disagree with this. A long term customer will continue to bring in new customers throughout the time they are a customer. A flashin the pan 1 month customer may only bring in 1 or 2 friends who also may not stay. A long term customer will tell their friends constantly and bring some of them into the game creating long term money for Nevrax. Those new long term players will then bring in their other friends who then bring in other friends, most of which all become long term customers.

Steady income is something you can live on and plan by. Flash in the pan spikes are useless and cannot be used to plan long term developement.

I know this, you know this. Maybe Nevrax can learn this too.

Gank magnets as the PvP / GvG / FvF can only bring 1-3 months subscribers, not long term players.

My point exactly. You are here for more than 2 yrs. You've already dragged all your friends here, maybe your wife, your wife friends too and so on. You had all the time for this. Now you are no longer a potential benefit for the company, you are expandable.

Judging by the columns Jessica wrote for Skotos I'd say Nevrax knows this too However the problem might be that Nevrax investers, who after seeing the huge success of WoW, want to see some returns and push developement into direction that, while giving some short term profits, may very well be the death of this game in the long run....

I was remembering this statement when I said increase:
patchnotes wrote:Right now PvP damages are divided by 2 compared to PvE. The original purpose was to make PvP fights to last longer
But I have to agree that decreasing HP heal DOES suggest fights will be shorter not longer. So I have to question what Nevrax's thinking was behind the heal nerf? The changes they have made don't seem to have the same effect as the old halving damages in PvP.
mtsmith wrote:The changes implemented also had another effect on PVM type activity. They made fighting mobs interesting again, whereas a lot of us were getting bored with the grind because it was the same boring, easy stuff.
I thought you said the changes didn't affect anything except PvP? :)

I do agree though, it has made people think more about how they hunt. Made them adapt their techniques to the new system.

There is a law in germany that every company *must* be profit orientated. I am pretty sure this law exists in every country of the european union and probably in many other countries.

I am not very good at this and my english also, but its something with taxes. You can account loss somehow in your tax declaration. This nothing spezial, no bussiness year is like the other. But the tendency to profit must be there somewhere :)

As long as I am a paying customer I am always a benefit to the company. And I'd be willing to guess Nevrax knows this too. You don't run a company without knowing this.

Every person is a part of a chain of recruited people. Break one link in that chain and you may break the whole chain. Thus the possibility of losing the whole chain.

No I think Nevrax is aware of how useful every customer is and how each is a benefit to them. But I think maybe with the PVP Mach may be right though.

Change = Good
Instead of looking at the "Change is good" aspect, why not look at:

Status Quo = Bad

Right now the game is losing players to attrition. In order to attract new players, Nevrax is attempting to emulate the most successful MMORPG in the market today: World of Warcraft.
Actually I'm not choosing not to have access to everything.. I'm beeing forced to not having access to 100%. There is a big diffrence there.
Actually, you're choosing not to have access to everything. You have the same option to do the same things as anyone else. However, aside from that fact, if Nevrax does nothing, there will be no game for anyone. 90% > 0%, any way you slice it.

All generalizations are fallacious, including this one. :D

Yes, but you are your friends are prolly sharing the same views about the game. Role play, nice attitude, helpfull, friendly, etc.
A brand new leet kid who's a paying customer too (just like you) is bringing in his friends (again just like you). All those friends are ready to be amazed of anything that's new and shinny.

I don't think I know enough english to make my point clear.
Basically you've done your duty. You got how many new customers you could. The "new wave" of PvP players will bring in "their" world and their visons about how the game should be. A totally different world where you cannot enter, because, simply you are too old.
So, on the paper, leving the feelings away, you and the newcomer are the same. But he's at the begining of the road and you are at the end. That's make him more valuable in Nevrax's eyes.
