I have just heard back from the devs. They say it would not be possible to put a weps trader there or to move one of the itinirent traders closer to the fort.
Looking on the positive side, I got a reply. The first I have received since day one. Since I want the event to be happy & a success, I am not going to look at the negative side. There will be enough mats, ammo & guns for all.
Shunafyr - I will bring 2 packers from Yrks. See you Saturday at fort around 14:00 your time. Its time for the range riders to kick ass.
Nb. The event is on Sunday at 19:00 UK bst, 14:00 (varied) US. Mimir1 if you are at fort on Sat you will be welcome.

Thanks much

Will be settled into my hotel room in downtown Copenhagen. 20:00 my time. I feel like such a dolt, as I have no clue where the fort is.

I am assuming you are talking about the Matisian Border Guards camp in KoD ? That's a decent area and any Matis should be able to bring all packers there... NTM ammo mats close by as well...
Both days I work til 4 PM CST but I will try and help out as much as possible.

To get to the Matisan border fort you leave Yrks by the main gate and take the road that starts by going west but then turns mainly north. When you cross KoD border you want to go through Psykopia knoll and fort is to the right.
Only probs are a few gingos at the start & a few more baying gingos as you get close to psykopia knoll. Turn right past a big hill and you'll see the camp.
Shunafyr has to go to NYC tomorrow so might not make it till much later, if at all.
The fort is pretty safe to leave packers in unless there is a huge invasion or there are some range cowboys camping close by, get drunk and shoot up the Sheriff.

I will be at Yrks stable to take my packer to border fort around 18:30 uk bst.
Anyone who wants to protect my valuable cargo of ammo mats can find me there.
Hope you can make it to the event, I've just dug 2.5k mats. I might even let you try my launcher which has a range of 55.5m. Shunafyr has one that does 59.9m (I think). By the time the mobs get to you, you could have blown their boll...s off. Apparently makes nice soup. Maybe I should give Xavier the recipe.
Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow.

Unfortunately there where not too much people and i had to leave before the first shoot was fired. But tis was a timezone problem only.
I liked the ideas about testing out different strategies and how those could make sense in GvG.
I hope the others had some fun and will tell us about yesterday.

I made the mistake of picking Matis border camp as the venue. It was based more on logistic reasoning than experience.
Shunafyr's original venue (Offlavik Oasis) was then adopted and even the lower level team were getting up to 3k xp killing igaras and learning/using affliction.
Shunafyr then demonstrated how a machine gun should be used by spraying 3 cloppers with bullets & killing them. The second team shot the claws off cloppers for up to 3k xp but it could get a little hairy when drawing 3 at a time.
This was the first range event I have attended and learned quite a bit from it. As we were away from packers, the grenade launcher did not get used (due to ammo bulk) but I could imagine a couple of launchers & a couple of machine guns demolishing a hoard of cloppers in no time.
Maybe next time. I now have 2 nearly full packers sitting at the border camp as we used very little of the mats we brought. I look forward to decimating the cloppers if we get around to having a further event.
I guess I'll be crafting ammo for the next year or so to get rid of the mats.
A big thank you to all who attended.

I enjoyed it and I've decided to use it whenever I can. 130+ melee lvl = #8 range hit with lvl 23 skill = good xp with lower lvl team mates. Nice to feel the rush of quick leveling again, while it lasts.I had my mule acct with us as lowbie healer and mat storage. I can see lowbie's being very useful in an engagement as such if the exchange system wasn't so clunky; meaning, anytime a team mate can't load you up and then tap you on the head, yelling "fire in the hole" it's clunky.
